I imagine it requires two things:
1) An overwhelmingly American following &
2) A large enough contingent of self-described 'Progressives' within that following

But invariably someone will clap back 'who cares why we're mad, the point is that they are the worst and everyone needs to know about it' coupled with 'you're awfully invested in carrying water for [X]' and, since I'm a guy, 'You know she won't fuck you right?'. God... why am I even on this site...

It irritates me because its intellectually lazy and ideologically motivated. I agree with you completely! Be mad sure, but make sure you're mad for legit reasons!

Hey, uh BlueSky... Ceasefire declared... Regardless of who proposed it or who gets credit, you know that a ceasefire is a good thing right? Potentially worthy of discussion?

I hope this ends the perpetually delayed 'fiscal update' nonsense that we've seen over the past ten years, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm surprised, not even an episode of Star Trek eh? That's quite an accomplishment if we are similarly aged. Did you not have a television growing up? Or was it strictly regulated?

My grandfather drank straight Tabasco and ate peanut butter and onion sandwiches. I'm good lol!

Mine's Futurama

"Now I am leaving Earth for no raisin"

I can't say the word 'reason' without thinking of this stupid quote.

Apotheosis of 'Academics are the real proletariat'!

Sorry, I don't know you well enough to know if you are chuckling while growling, but I like to think that you are :D

We could substitute this out for a real classical comparative formulation like μὲν...δὲ

Academics love the EM and EN dash, so I wouldn't consider that a giveaway at all (source: was academic, had many conversations with colleagues on our love for EM and EN dashes).

OOOOH okay, so somewhat similar motivations to Hegseth then eh? Thank you for the additional explanation!

Could you go into more detail on this? Specifically the high number of MOH awards because it was controversial. I don't really get the connection.

Evidently my gif was enough for them to block me but you, the original sinner, remain unblocked :D

I'm not sure where it got the ashlar blocks from, but I didn't tell it the house church was mudbrick so I can't blame it too much. That being said, the style looks much more 19th than 3rd century to me. Either way, I'd be SUPER cautious with generically trained models hehehe

Then it proceeded to generate the following.

Almost nothing from the floor plan has been respected except the general squarish building layout with a peristyle. The hexagonalish pool on the second floor is reminiscent of Lombard baptistries from ~5 centuries later.

I then instructed it to create a reconstruction of this building, telling it only this was the floor plan to a 3rd century building in Roman Syria that was two levels tall. It went through some very interesting logic, analyzing the rooms, and eventually noticed the baptistry.

No idea about the consensus, but I thought I'd give Gemini a go. I expected it to fail, but I didn't think it would fail quite this spectacularly. It's actually very interesting where it failed.

I gave Gemini Rostovzeff's's floor plan of the house church in Dura Europos (image attached).
