60 year old Jewish person here. My support for Israel has been eroding for a decade at least. The major media source furthering that erosion is Ha'aretz, the liberal/left Israeli newspaper that shows all of Israel, warts and all. (A lot of warts....)
How do Jews who care about actual Jewish values justify supporting this? We are supposed to care about ethics and morality, not just supporting the "tribe."
Can he explain how his centrist pablum will increase new voter registration the way Mamdani has done? (Rhetorical question, of course not)
That was my 23 year old son's strategy.
The idea that claiming Israel has committed genocide is antisemitic is wild, given the high percentage of American Jews who agree.
That's exactly what I was wondering!
I had a similar thought: my view is supporting this vile man (Cuomo) is the real threat to the Jewish community, i.e., to Jewish values. A mensch is better than a racist, sexual harasser. (I agree with Mamdani on Israel, but even if I didn't, Cuomo is awful.)
To Rabbi Cosgrove, Bret Stephens & the others carrying on about Mamdani being dangerous to Jews, my view is supporting this vile man is the real threat, i.e., to Jewish values. A mensch is better than a racist, sexual harasser. (I agree with Mamdani on Israel, but even if I didn't, Cuomo is awful.)

A lot of Americans would love to talk about kitchen table issues, unfortunately the kitchen table is being used to barricade the front door because ICE is trying to illegally enter private property to arrest and detain them.
Last week, I noticed the NY Times op Ed section was full of articles about what Dems should be doing, as if it were Dec. 2024, not 10 months into the T2 nightmare. Total disconnect from reality.
#5 is not credible given the other points
We have a case before this judge, scheduled for trial in November. He's terrific: smart, balanced, compassionate, and a mensch.
That's what we call our light brown labradoodle when he curls into a ball.
It will help NY in the 2030 census/redistricting. The more people flee the state because it's expensive, the more Congressional seats we lose.
Only if the opposition successfully spreads the images and videos. Dems seem to struggle to hit capitalize on using this material effectively, or at all.
Btw, Cuomo's people are standing on the corner by our voting site this morning insulting Mamdani voters, yelling "terrorist" at a woman with a keffiyah around her shoulders, and calling Mamdani staffers Jew haters. Kind of exemplifies his ugly campaign.
In this instance, that argues for voting for Cuomo. My point is this is not likely to be close. Stick to principles and don't vote for this loathsome man, even if you don't want Mamdani.
We just watched it and were discussing the very same thing.
But I don't think anyone will write a musical about Melania.
OTOH, there are Jews for Mamdani groups, and supporters among a range of synagogues/groups.

I would like to think Cuomo's rank Islamophobia might give decent people pause in voting for him. (Stay home if you can't vote for Mamdani, don't vote for a racist, bullying, serial sexual harasser.)
That's very true. Our rabbi refuses to endorse, notwithstanding the new IRS guidelines. She is all about people thinking for themselves and the congregation covering a range of views.
And declaring pronouns is annoying so let's destroy the country.
The confluence of Cuomo going full gutter with the hundreds of rabbis slamming Mamdani is quite something. The Jewish community is having enough trouble trying to figure out how to deal with the role of Israel, what can be criticized, etc., and this is like a bomb exploding in the middle of it.
Coupled with Cuomo's Islamophobic remark this morning, he is certainly making a play for a particular type of voter.
And assumes no one needs a different chair or other ergonomic concerns.
