& IMO i am begging ppl who do not attend immigrant rights trainings to stop this spread of images for likes stuff bc they are only doing it to talk about something online & giving conservative mayoral candidates major deflective talking points

And then on the other end, i have kids just trying to get into a shelter…. Children, not adults, children, who are actually homeless and actively in dv situations…. So plz, support your local orgs financially when fundraising comes around, you can actually count on those going to targeted plans

Im once again reminding ppl not to kick their kids out at 18 bc they cannot afford rent no matter the job they currently have & should not be doing the eviction dance multiple times a year bc programs dont have funding anymore, covid spending is gone. Or ppl need to get roommates, this is exhausting

One frustrating thing about having a lot of community services is that some ppl think theres a magic button to solve a problem, like they will find a program to fix it & we have to keep searching, but really the answer is to start budgeting and work on paying the problem down, then it spirals…

i got the al pastor pizza last night at marsu pizzeria & taqueria and then some pastries from a panaderia inside mercado central, please go and support latino businesses this week esp along lake st, it is more crucial than ever!

it’s good the city is even doing latino business week this year given at the time of last year’s, it was not part of the mayor’s proposed 2025 budget! too bad the city didn’t do a block party yesterday, lake st needs this support right now

last year’s latino business week kickoff was held on the sunday before it started, in the afternoon, so that it was a lot more community oriented and accessible. this year’s kickoff being held at 10am on a monday morning feels more like playing to the press and getting photos

Ugh. Mayor Frey trying to get bonus points by recording a video (about gun violence) on bike.

Feels very performative, given his actual track record on active transportation, including CLOSING the Stevens/Greenway bike/ped ramp due to gun violence.

Don’t trust Frey.
