When I lived in Osborne Village, I had to cross Donald at Stradbrook either on foot or by bike to get to work. I was nearly hit by trucks while I was in the intersection with the right of way on three separate occasions. It was so bad that when I got pregnant, I stopped walking or biking altogether.

Oh okay so within the past few weeks, two kids got hit by cars leaving shool, someone else was hit crossing a big street on foot, and someone got run over walking on a crosswalk near me. Cool. Very cool.

I walk and bike across this intersection all the time with my family. It feels like the “safer” option than Osborne and River, but it’s still designed entirely for the fast flow of cars through Osborne Village, not for the many other road users in this very biking and walking-heavy neighborhood.

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.
