Same for literary studies. Non-tenure-track lit studies scholars I know you're out there and publishing articles and books. And if you're tenure-track and know NTT authors, let me know about their work! I can reach out and confirm that they're cool with being listed.
Haven't received as many contributions as usual for this year's lists--could be many things, but one aspect is surely that our ability to get this in front of people is much diminished. If you know folks whose stuff should be on here, please suggest it! contingentmagazine.org/yearly-pub-l...

Starting January 1st, California will mandate that any use of AI-altered real estate photos in listings be disclosed, and that a link to the unaltered image be included.

It will be a criminal offense to fail to make this disclosure.

The NBC .MSNBC properties are also the people who let Ben Collins and Brandy Zadrozny erase nearly a decade of Black womens work

Writing great books is one of the coolest things a human being can possibly do, but it’s important to recognize that the vast majority of authors throughout history earned roughly the equivalent of Uber driver wages to create the works we study today.

Unfathomable cruelty.
NEW: Louisiana’s governor eliminated parole for prisoners arrested after Aug. 1, 2024, and tightened eligibility rules for those arrested before.

Then he tossed those rules aside for one group: undocumented immigrants. Why? To have them deported.
Louisiana Made It Nearly Impossible to Get Parole. Now It’s Releasing Prisoners to Deport Them.

I never forgot the, I think, Harvard paper that was retracted for calling out the fascist origins of ADOS/FBA

Re: ADOS, specifically, not just memory-holed. I witnessed ww actively work against & run out of “disinfo studies” the Black women who were speaking up & writing about it.
Everybody really memory holed the Russian trolls on Tumblr and John Tanton groups (ADOS/FBA, PFIR, etc) that tried to influence US Politics for years

It really is another case of obvious shit they would've known if they listened to Black folk, especially when they kept starting shit for no reason 😮‍💨

Thinks it’s kind of sexist to deny the fact white women can be just as racist as white men.
A truly level playing field would force them to face the terror of the realization that white guys are only mediocre at best.

And why do white women keep voting R? They know their fathers, husbands and sons aren’t anything special and can’t hold their own with everyone else.
