A comic titled "How to Draw Comics," in which a serene looking being is stood before a table, on which is a single sheet of paper and a pencil. The being is staring at us.

They then peek down at the sheet of paper, and the POV switches to that of the being, so we can see what is on the page. A single word is written there:

"Don't"

The POV switches back, but is closer on the being's strangely serene face as they continues staring at the page.

They then stare directly at us, the serene face implying the opposite.

You can accuse people of slippery slope fallacy or being needlessly pedantic, but these are questions that don't have clear answers. The reality is that there isn't actually a way to enforce a rule like that without creating an incredibly wide grey area that has a lot of people concerned.

But also, when it comes to consent specifically, in the context of static images and illustrations what is and is not consensual is often going to be up to the whims and discretion of the person doing the moderating. This creates a precarious situation for anyone posting nsfw content.

Yes, this was a great post. Says you edited it just this August, too. Super helpful information to anyone looking to learn to use the site.

While the lack of passive traffic can be a bit disheartening, the organization and privacy controls are more than worth it in my opinion. It's leaps better.

I really wish people were talking about Pillowfort more. It's nsfw-friendly, variety of features, user-funded and not beholden to corpos and tech-bro bigots... I'm still surprised bluesky caught on faster and better than it did, though we're seeing how that's going now.
