Carney plans to spend $1.7 billion on recruiting researchers from the US or who would otherwise go to the US.

By comparison, the *entire annual budget* of NSERC is $1.3 billion. And he's cutting that.

When Hitler declared war on the universities there was an exodus of researchers.
The American "century" benefited from the influx of great thinkers.
Trump's war on American universities is the end of that century.
Canada's century has begun.

Canada's Century Has Begun
There was an item in the last federal budget that didn’t get much attention but it’s a detail that has the potential to transform Canada’s place in the world.

People complain about using the chemical toilet at church (our main toilet is broken and we can't afford the extremely expensive archeology required to fix it), and I'm like... Some volunteers will have to lug this across the city to empty and clean it. We are doing our best. Stop complaining.

One way that the reaction to Rob Reiner's murder mirrors Charlie Kirk's is that the best way to eulogize each of them is to quote their words, and in both cases, doing so pisses off conservatives.

Of course, cover it but please, please point out - early - how stupid it is.

And don’t put it at the top of the news. Because it’s really, really stupid.

The welfare queens thing is so bizarrely nonsensical. The average taxpayer pays $36 for Snap, and there are 41 million Americans using the program. Let’s assume that 1 million people are defrauding the system, an insane assumption. That means you’re paying less than $1 per year to fraudsters.
