One only need dig just a bit below surface level observations to know this is true. But one has to care to. The ruling Christians [men] of Western Civilization have given no care to the Golden Rule, save when it applies to themselves & their egos.
It's not the colonizing. It's the raping, pillaging, violence, genocide, scorched earth, societal erasure stuff. If Western civ could peacefully coexist with anyone, there would be no problem.
