This EdiVGlo is wonderfully insane. Edinburgh have just replaced their entire front row at 30 minutes. The line out is a flip of a coin and it's like the backs on each team hate each other, absolute hospital passes all the time #rugby #EuropeanChampionsCup

Non-Irish: X's EU HQ is based in Dublin. X operates under IRISH LAW: 14 years to those who host CSAM. Point your cannons at Dublin, and put our ghouls under pressure. This dope is the relevant minister. We're not dealing with 1st raters.

#speirgorm is the tag to use (Irish bluesky).
Patrick O’Donovan’s statement here is farcically wrong, grimly idiotic and would be laughable if this were a situation which was capable of ever being a laughing matter.

It should be quoted, cited or just played at him every time he opens his mouth on any matter, for the rest of his career.

That was a scary few weeks with Frowley off to Connacht our international tens selection would have been threadbare!

The great thing about this government is they've a dozen positions on every issue. Don't like this one? Not to worry another minister will be along shortly with a different one!

🚨 AI Minister Niamh Smyth says it isn't appropriate for the Government to maintain a presence on X and will speak to the Taoiseach on the matter.

Says the European Commission should immediately suspend Grok while investigations are continuing.

I've signed this petition calling for the government to stop X allowing their chatbot Grok to ‘digitally undress’ women and share sexualised and illegal photos of children. Will you sign too?

Not even surprised If I'm being honest by the number of 'But we have to keep our accounts open on the creating illegal content site cos what about weather/bank/bus/ updates but like not actually posting' comments.
Like the number of open accounts isn't of the things Musk sees as a mandate.

Grok has not "turned off" its CSAM generator for anyone - it has simply put it behind a paywall.
Stop uncritically repeating the narratives of tech companies.

Ireland.

Our Taoiseach has taken a 'both sides' position on the deliberate non-consensual production of sexualised images of women and children. He both sides child sexual abuse.

He and his govt have sold Ireland to tech bros.

These people cannot be allowed to remain at the helm.
#SpéirGhorm
My word.

The Taoiseach, in China, says "platforms can be misused and abused or they can be used for positive reasons as well..." and says that should be considered carefully "before jumping to conclusions" on whether it's appropriate for the Government to be on X.
January 8, 2026 at 11:54 AM
Christ.
My word. (Again.)

Media Minister Patrick O'Donovan: "At the end of the day, it's the choice of a person to make these images... technology is moving so fast... even if the law is changed there's no doubt about... the advances are far faster than law is able to respond..."

One thing about all of this is: if the line is not here, at the mainstream, industrial-level creation of CSAM, where is it?

Musk by his own mission statement is out to smash societal norms, cut “empathy” from the West, demolish the EU…

What is next down the tracks for him, for X, if this isn’t it?
