The details of my life are quite inconsequential...
Reached the #treeapp milestone of planting 2000 free trees today…which was nice.

If The Hundred is to succeed as a gateway to longer forms of Cricket the commentary needs to be more informative (explan field placings, tactics, jargon etc).
If you want to keep the established commentators then use on screen pop-up explainers when using the cricketing lingo.

I'm sad to say that since leaving Twitter/X my sales for live shows have dropped quite a lot - it turns out that even though it's a dreadful place it was still useful for getting the word out about events. So any shares / RTs of my posts about live shows are hugely appreciated!

Back at Trent Bridge today for ENGvZIM.. My first experience of Test Cricket was here 27 years ago when Andrew Flintoff made his debut…therefore expecting a lot of Sam Cook!

Rather than retaliating with counter tariffs, we should instead adopt a similar traffic light system to that on food, but instead of nutritional information it shows where products were manufactured and where the raw materials came from.

That sense of mild disorientation when a song you’ve heard hundreds of times on a mixtape you made is played on the radio, and isn’t immediately followed by the song you were expecting.

Why isn’t the person who invented putting a grid on the back of wrapping paper better well known? ‘Noël Grid’ (let’s call them) surely should have the same recognition as Alexander Fleming, Tim Berners-Lee or Colonel Sanders...

This is very good news!!
Hey Bluesky! Toby here from That's So Village.

We started TSV to be a positive voice in cricket, celebrating the grassroots heroes of the game and building a community of likeminded fans.

Sadly, X is no longer a place of positivity, but we're excited to join Bluesky and continue our mission! 🏏

Just spent a fantastic week in Ireland. Sun and blue sky every day and some stunning views!

To make sure Test Cricket thrives in other countries, there should be a tri-nation test series held in England each summer between some of the lower ranked teams (Ireland, Afghanistan etc) which runs parallel to the England Test series.

Loved Paris2024 (not as much as London 2012 though, obvs).

TeamGB did an amazing job, but to help boost our medal hopes at future games, we should campaign to introduce some more 'mini' sports.

Shame #paris2024 haven’t adopted this excellent idea…

Hello! I’m Simon and as way of an introduction I’m a Civil Engineer in rural Cumbria, UK.

I love walking, stunning rural landscapes, cricket and well crafted (kind) comedy.

I’m also quite boring so don’t expect too many posts!
