Nothing reminds me that I run hot more than waiting at the bus stop: It’s the first proper cool day, 50F/10C, everybody is dressed in fall clothes, sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets, boots and I’m here in sandal slip-ons and a short sleeved knit cotton blouse with no jacket

Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

In nonfiction, HIGHLY recommend Geraldine Heng’s Empire of Magic, a postcolonial analysis of Arthurian legend and courtly romance — it gave me a lot to think on as an undergrad

I also have a soft spot for Sword of the Rightful King by Jane Yolen, a retelling where Merlin comes up with the sword in the stone to solve Arthur’s political problems, but someone else pulls the sword out first
