I don’t think Memphis trades Ja unless it gets waaaaaay worse there. Ja seems good on the bench being a team guy. We’ll see how he is when he plays again but honestly I think they’d ditch the coach before ditching him.

How they do in the playoffs? How was he defensively? How's his team doing without him right now? Young puts up nice box score numbers but outside of that ECF run, he hasn't driven a lot of winning. Jalen is the key moving forward

I believe enough in their coach that Tyler is going to just make them better. SPO is great at managing personalities and a great tactician

Again, Miami is such a culture team, they would have to do their due diligence. Pat Riley is a star chaser though I could see them taking the swing. IDK man, Powell has been SOOOOO good.
I mean if Miami can get Morant + filler for Norman Powell + Terry Rozier, would Miami do that? I keep seeing speculation that Miami is interested in Morant but I am skeptical

But if you are Memphis and you have turned Desmond Bane and Ja Morant into Trae Young and Cedric Coward (who is infinitely less expensive than Bane) + whatever 1sts you don’t need to attach to Morant in order to get Young… isn’t this a win?

Not sure at all, but it would be crazy to see a player of his caliber basically jettisoned like that. Attaching an asset means he's radioactive.
this might just be me but are we sure? that situation is toxic as hell. i don't think he's washed or is just this bad forever now but that spot in memphis feels frail to me

It's almost like it was too much, too soon, and it sort of went to his head. Or maybe he's taking it for granted. He definitely has star power, but there's a lot that goes into being an NBA star, it's about more than what he wants and he doesn't seem to understand that
I hope he turns it around because it seems like he doesn’t really understand the opportunity that he has. Then again, he probably never expected to make the NBA and be a superstar so he might feel like he already won. But the city has DEFINITELY embraced him. For better or worse.

When you consider that Memphis had built its roster around a ball dominant G who is bad at defense… doesn’t it make sense to add 1st round picks to Ja Morant in exchange for either LaMelo Ball or Trae Young?

Wouldn't be shocked, but what's the market for him right now? A lot of injuries the last 2.5 years, he's pouting, seems like the athleticism is already starting to wane.
But yeah, Memphis front office definitely wants to trade Morant sooner rather than later, regardless of what anyone says imo
