ICE out of Portland!
#abolishICE #resist #PDX
A digital drawing of a frog standing on a bright red background. The frog is holding a sign that says “ICE out of Portland”. The frog looks mad.

Things are really bad right now but it does sometimes help to remember that this cultural moment for trans people is an entirely manufactured psyop in terms of its perceived level of scale. I believe in my heart of hearts that a majority of people just don't give a shit.

1. Anti-trans outrage is losing its bite.

Last week, Elon Musk led a mass boycott campaign to get trans characters removed from shows on the platform.

Major conservatives joined in.

Now, we have the result: the boycott was a fizzle, and Netflix stock is up.

Not to be whiny, but I would really like for something good to happen. On a personal level. On a national level. On a global level. One of all three.

the people who've been in charge leading up to this moment will not be the ones to get us out of it.
@brianschatz
Why do we need snipers in our cities? Why are six masked men slamming a guy in a wheelchair to the ground? Why would an agent tackle a scared wife? Add the rhetoric of the Presidents
increasingly manic and angry Senior Advisor,
and we are at a fork in the road.

@adamjohnsonCHI replied
Brian you supported doubling ICE's budget
last year, backing what you described as a
Republican "border security" bill. Given ICE's
lawlessness, do you think, in retrospect, this
was a wise idea?
Quote tweeted: @brianschatz. 2/5/24
Just gobsmacked. I've never seen anything
like it. They literally demanded specific
policy, got it, and then killed it.

@brianschatz replied
Do you think this is a good use of your platform right now? @adamjohnsonCHI
Do you think meaningfully combatting the
forces of fascism require a coherent and
consistent counter-politics and not nonstop
triangulation and stupid gotchas that reinforce
every racist MAGA premise? I think it does,
and I think it will continue to do so moving
forward.

@brianschatz replied,
The border was a mess. Things are way worse
now, and part of what I was doing was trying to prevent us from landing here.

The west coast democrats are democrats who hate poor people. They're incredibly anti-homeless & Gavin exploits their sentiments with policy.

I'm sorry: "if I wish to see a virgin on-screen"?
My Favorite Actress Is Not Human
Tilly Norwood doesn’t need a hairstylist, has no regrettable posts, and if you wish to see a virgin on-screen, this is one of your better chances. That’s because she’s AI.

This is why we fund scientists to study things like oyster slobber even if you don’t think it sounds important

⚠️ Chinese researchers have invented bone glue that mimics how oysters stick to surfaces underwater.

The adhesive can reportedly repair orthopedic fractures in 2-3 minutes, even in blood-rich environments, and is bioabsorbable.
