i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills

A little thing that works for me, maybe it can work for you, is that Black Friday week is also "Focused Unsubscribing Week". EVERY company that ever got you on their mailing list will send an email this week. Make an intention as you enter the week to unsub, not just ignore, to anyone you're over.

Update: I'm now ported across to Lebara and paying £6 a month for 35GB instead of £25 for 20GB.
Fucking hell. Enshittification continues. Trying to leave O2. Their 'text you your PAC' doesn't work. The helpline is voice automated with AI, so the cadence is deeply confusing (fuck knows how second language speakers manage) and now I'm being asked to tap in the 22nd letter of my pass phrase.

Ugh. I might have to go back to wearing a scrum cap. I switched to taping my ears because it reduces the hearing loss that cap+scrum produces, but after Sunday's match - where every single scrum* my face got sanded by gritty mud-covered shorts - I've lost loads of skin off my temples.
