I WON A BRAM STOKER AWARD
FOR COUP DE GRÂCE!!!

TRULY OVERJOYED!!! Thank you so much to the @horrorwritersassoc.bsky.social and to @titanbooks.bsky.social for championing this dark experimental book about a man who finds hope and choice in the depths of despair. I’m so honoured.
Thank you Sonora!! 🥹💕
Honoured and overjoyed to learn that Bury Your Gays won a British Fantasy Award!! 🙇‍♂️ I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with @ghoulish.bsky.social and our incredible contributors. Thank you to everyone involved in the British Fantasy Awards!! Kicking my heels in glee.
And the winner is Bury Your Gays by Sofia Ajram, accepted on their behalf by Joanne Harris
Back at urgent care (second time this week!) cause of post-op bleeding from hysterectomy. Got to go in a CT scan for the first time. Big xray donut—neat!

The outpouring of support from readers & colleagues is overwhelming. I can't imagine them coming together like this for a "problematic" trans woman even five years ago. If you want to help me make up the lost income from comics work, you can subscribe to my Patreon.

Horror folks, it's the middle of September, and the Stoker Recommended Reading List is looking extremely small. If you're a member of the HWA, go recommend something you've read that you loved!

Sometimes! Sometimes I’ll just bring a book or my phone to take notes that way (or print copies of things to do hard edits)
I find them really helpful especially if they’re open air / lots of space and quiet (and no one coughing) lol
Having a list the night before about what I’m gonna tackle that day
Start with small behavioural changes
Create a new work environment so your brain associates it with working (this can mean going to a new cafe to work)

Anyway, buy trans books.
On that note:

Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day.

Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links.

Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo
Being a trans author is fucking weird right now. Hell is actively unfolding all around us but I still need to be like, "hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book? It won't make anything better, but it's kinda fun?"

So....hey, everyone, wanna buy my silly little queer book?

USA TODAY BEST-SELLER BLACK FLAME, debuting higher on the list than CUCKOO ever made it

God, I'm so grateful to all of you. Thank you for making it possible for me to have this career I've been dreaming about since I was fourteen.
Grinning quite proudly (and joyfully!) at this CBC Books recent mention! A feature that thrilled my parents but not as much as meeee!
self-portraits on 35mm. It’s been fun getting back into old hobbies.
Can anyone share scenes from books or short stories that depict overstimulation / autistic meltdown well?
In London for a couple days. Got to see HADESTOWN with Len this evening and it was fun! I love an Underground Railroad setting.
