I'm a pulp author, so I'm unusually fast. There are pulp authors faster than me.

I can write and edit 4-5 10k word shorts a month, and I can write one 60k word novel in about 3 months.

I know some folk that can write, edit, and put out 2-4 shorts a week. They're to be feared. Not AI, just do it full time and have it down to a science.

Similarly, there are people who can put out a 60k novel in a month or two. Normally, you only see this in pulp romance and in webserials.

I think this depends on genre! I put out about one a month at this point, but used to do one a month *per pen name.* Lots of indie romance writers put out 12+/year. 🤷‍♂️

Authors, in the interest of helping readers spot gen ai 'authored' books, how many novels do you publish a year?

I publish one 80-100k+ word (epic fantasy) novel, and I can only do that because I drafted 8 novels before I started publishing any. 📚💙
