@spooloflies.bsky.social
Amy, queer cis Jew, she/her. Kidlit, reality TV, lady superheroes, lit theory, collage. All the #BlackWidow feelings. Watched 1400+ Law & Order episodes in a year. I'm sorry for who I am during Big Brother season. Asthma, TMJ, and #ActuallyOCD. So tired.
Pinned
Housekeeping note: I've upgraded my Complete Laws and/or Orders Spreadsheet (currently 1434 episodes) to include the FBIs (currently 331 episodes). Haven't started One Chicago but I figure it's only a matter of time. No one is proud right now. docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Great news for the "Mr. Beast will provide lots of additional audience engagement and that's why we need to associate him with #Survivor50" crowd.
They booed mr beast at the Super Bowl

I'm clearly going to have a lot of feelings at some point but I'm absolutely not at that point yet so people keep being like "how are your Feelings" and I'm like "great I'm letting myself eat bagels this week and they're delicious" and almost no one is actually asking about bagels

Guys my aunt brought up Stranger Things unprovoked and @thesasha.bsky.social got to see my whole face journey in bravely not responding.

Fanfiction doesn’t exist to be “good” it exists because something went horribly wrong with you while you were watching a tv show and you’re gripped by madness

YES. This is also why the lack of continuity between any two movies beyond broad character strokes is a feature, not a bug. Variations in the characters only matter if you're the kind of person who says "how come Professor Plum drives neither a taxi nor a Delorean" unironically
the magic of the Muppets is that there are two fourth walls. they constantly break the one that reminds the audience they are performers. they NEVER break the one that reminds the audience they are puppets. this dynamic is the key to their entire comedy style
MY KIDS: so why are there muppets in the AUDIENCE

ME: THE CONCEIT!! IS THAT THEY'RE PUTTING ON A VARIETY SHOW!!! IN A WORLD WHERE MUPPET AND HUMAN COEXIST!!! YOU ARE WATCHING A DOCUMENTARY!! FILMED!! IN REAL TIME!!!

Jewish tradition days that when a loved one from your immediate family (parent, child, or sibling) did, you wear a black ribbon, torn, to represent the way people used to rend their clothing.

Dare to be the person who says "what if"

i kneeled to take a sweet pic of her with her eyes closed and facing the sun and instead i instantly got a whole serving of stanley kubrick shit from someone who’s afraid of shadows, plastic bags, shoes, and her own tail.

production of The Muppet Show should not be dependent on petty vulgarities like “ratings” or “revenue.” it should be preserved as a vital function of american culture. it should have a taxpayer-funded budget rivaling the CIA

I finished my Lego T-Rex display! I bought a used terrarium, then ordered the white baseplates, the stanchions, and the "rope" from Lego. The spotlights and the terrarium background were from Amazon.

Minifigs were from my box of assorted Lego :-)

I'm not posting the obit or funeral info on here given the frequent reminders we've gotten about how this entire site is very public but I did link to the obit on facebook, and if anyone wants details feel free to DM, which is a part of this site I have basically never looked at but what if I start.
So I have been putting off posting this because I don't really know how to say it, but: my dad passed away last night. Hospice was amazing, his care team was amazing, he wasn't in pain, and I'm very glad he's no longer suffering and that I can finally officially miss him. I'm okay.
