Just a ginger learning SQL! (She/He/They/Them) Vintage aesthetic, modern values, disabled. Views do not reflect my employer. I dance like an overly confident middle age white dude… probably at a wedding.

All of these are concerning. Water, utilities, financial services? Oh goody.
Not a long wait. But every single voter needed a form filled out and then to sign it.

mRNA vaccines like what Canada is now producing and researching thanks to the previous Liberal government under PM Trudeau and continued support from the current Liberal government under PM Carney.
This looks promising for cancer specific mRNA vaccines.
Accessibility issue you haven’t considered in your business:

Hand dryers aren’t always accessible for mobility users. A hand dryer that isn’t as strong as me blowing on my hands, isn’t drying anything. Now I have to try not to slip off my mobility device with wet hands. Which can lead to falls.

“They can’t discriminate against you for being disabled!”

In theory this is true. There are protections in place to prevent discrimination

In practice they don’t work. Especially with rising fascism and eugenicist sentiment

We are denied accommodations. Denied jobs. Denied housing. Denied support

Gentle reminder that should a general strike happen, it’s crucial to plan and establish robust networks of community care.

There will be people, especially within the disability community, who can’t participate.

Who have needs that must be met.

Let’s make sure we figure out how to include them!
I’d also like to point out that being able to travel is a huge privilege. Many of the people who need it most don’t have the ability to travel. It requires money, resources and accessibility.
That’s this year. Not next year. You don’t know if it’ll be the same.

RURAL ED CLOSURES - REAL AB Case #3
- patched through a bystander call from 911 dispatcher to online doc, significant trauma from an ATV accident
- literally not a single EMS crew in the vicinity, local ED closed, all resources actively transporting patients

Last time we didn’t need to plan a year in advance. It’s getting silly.
That’s great. If you can wait until after they vaccinate their own population. They did say BC first. Some people don’t consider it until they have a baby, get cancer, sick, or have a loved one get sick. So now they need to plan that a year in advance.
For folks using screen readers. Apologies. I missed the alt text button. Top says Alberta Vaccine Booking System.

Then:
Pre-ordering of vaccines for the 2026-2027 immunization season starts on Sept 29 & ends on Dec 15. Vaccines can only be pre-ordered during this period.

Below: booking page
Heads up Alberta. You only get this info if you click “preorder vaccine-order vaccines.” Found out from another friend with cancer. Not great for folks at risk.

And one country being shitty with public health, especially one where its citizens jump on planes and travel so much, is a problem for every other country too.

You can’t hate fascists and use AI slop generators. They’re the same thing: total destruction of truth at scale.
Once again. It’s the librarians holding the line.

In my mind… she looks like one of these librarians. youtu.be/vIwPEn4LzL8

The world needs to thank our librarians. #librarians #BookBans
Only Danielle Smith can make me glad I’ve got cancer.

Yay! Free vaccine!

*note: I’ll be fine. Very fine. Surgery soon.

It’s ok. That’s the lighting department. They’re feral.

I’m sorry but I fail to see Farkas as centre or left. He claims to have changed. But all I see is someone changing to where the votes are.
The #AlbertaGovernment / #UCP increased registry costs w/no notice as of Oct 1. More ways to increase fees and taxes while keeping us distracted.

It’s not at all in the news. Why is that? @globalnews.ca @ctvnewscalgary.bsky.social @albertandp.ca @naheednenshi.bsky.social @rachelgilmore.bsky.social

Being disabled is a minority group you can join at any time… yet most believe they’re the exception.

They think it’ll never happen to them.

That they will “try harder” their way out of it.

That we could get better if we “really wanted to”.

Health is temporary. Disability is not a moral failing.
