PIP isn’t ‘too easy to get’—it’s designed to fail people.

🔹 56% of #PIP claims were awarded
🔹 22% of those were later overturned, taking support away
🔹 68% of tribunal appeals beat the DWP’s decision

When over two-thirds of appeals win, it’s a system built to deny support.

Fuck this labour government. It's already almost impossible to qualify for the higher rate as a result of neurodivergence or MH conditions - now they are taking even the lower rate away completely!

Why does *everyone* fuck this up? #PIP is a benefit paid to both non-working disabled people AND working disabled people.

In the case of working disabled people it's often the benefit that enables them to afford to GET to work as it includes access to motability/adapted vehicles/chairs.

1/2 My view on potential welfare cuts:

If a government drives people who are unwell into exploitative and insecure work, the illness doesn’t go away.

We'll see more people on waiting lists, visiting food banks, & pushed into services that are past breaking point.

Cuts to benefits would be a 'grave mistake', Keir Starmer warned by his own MPs
Labour MPs have hit back at ministers for plotting disability benefit cuts worth billions of pounds. Instead, they call for a wealth tax.

There is no 'black hole' in the government's finances. The 'fiscal rules' are BS. Fiasco rules would be a better name.

The Labour government can afford to pay #PIP and support disabled people, but they prefer #CapitalistCruelty instead, as they bow down to their corporate masters.
#Austerity was never 'necessary'. Of course, we should tax the rich, but a sovereign government with its own currency can create as much money as it needs. Taxes don't pay for government spending. Governments spend, THEN tax. We are being LIED to. Read The Deficit Myth.

(Only just beaten by @zarahsultana.bsky.social who hasn't made this list due to the whip being unfairly removed.)
It's not true that all benefit claimants are unemployed: 37% receiving Universal Credit work.

But in any case, our party exists to serve the whole working class, including those out of work.

Cutting welfare would have disastrous consequences. We can tax extreme wealth instead.

If the leaked #PIP freeze is being dropped, that’s good.

But let me be clear—the far bigger concerns Labour leaked were + are:
- Changing the PIP gateway to require 4 points in one component (alongside 8+ overall)
-Any changes to LCWRA

These would have devastating consequences.

Truly horrifying to see the #pip disability benefits cuts unveiled by @teamlabouruk.bsky.social today. I'm a lifelong Labour voter and I'm disgusted. Why won't they #TaxTheRich? I'm devastated.

Hard to think of anything more likely to push mentally ill & neurodivergent people out of work, study, and society than these #PIP cuts. They are designed to take away the very support that lets people participate in life.

I can't imagine how disabled people who rely on this support will be feeling watching the news today. I can promise Greens will fight these cruel cuts tooth & nail and I hope every principled MP across the house will do so too. #DisabilityBenefits

Before I head to work I have one thing to say to #Starmer and #Labour. If you slash access to #PIP and vilify those with Long-term health issues & disabilities, then you have truly become what you once stood in opposition to.
Tax the rich, stop cutting benefits or admit you're not the Left!
