WCAG-EM 2.0, a process to evaluate accessibility, is coming! We (me, @stevefaulkner.bsky.social and Jeroen) are updating it to:

- make the scope broader (from “websites” to any digital product)
- make it more readable
- bring it up to date (mentions design systems now)

Received my A11Y Antifa shirt from HTMLZ and @stevefaulkner.bsky.social! This is a cool little web nerd shop on ETSY if you haven’t looked.
Nat wearing a heather tshirt. On the shirt is an anarchy symbol as the letter A for the words A11Y and antifa.

This fess is perfectly crafted for Bluesky as it suckers in Americans who don’t understand things exist outside America, and people who want to read a subtext into everything.

Englishman here, married to a wonderful American lady, living in the US. Initially she was horrified by my use of the word "cunt" as it is only used as a pejorative against women here. This morning she asked, "Who turned the air conditioning on? Some cunt?" Never been prouder.

Holy shit, #Webflow.

I understand you may not have anyone on staff to review this LLM-generated ARIA explainer, but you’ve mostly just convinced me your product is a lawsuit-in-waiting.

I’m sorry most of your customers won’t recognize that.

Many assistive tools, such as screen readers and voice control, better engage with websites when the HTML includes ARIA rules — telling a screen reader, for example, where a button is or what it does so visitors with visual disabilities can still use it. Why use ARIA? Using ARIA in your code gives a wider audience access to your content. It can also ensure your projects comply with web accessibility rules like the WCAG, another WAI best practice.
