Another top episode with @stevenc63.bsky.social Spot on reflections on Paul's performance. For You Blue was such a good choice. And I love the moment with Macca and Ringo shouting "And there's the 12 bar blues!" together. Brilliant!
Part 2 of our chat about Concert for George with @stevenc63.bsky.social is now LIVE, and there's lots to discuss!

🍏What are the standout performances?
🍏Paul treads VERY carefully. How much credit does he deserve for how he handles this?
🍏Was Joe Brown getting the closing number a surprise?

#5debutalbums7074 The Baby Huey Story - The Living Legend (1971) Sadly not an original. A Curtis Mayfield protégé with an astounding voice that just about got his chaotic life together to record most of this album before succumbing to his demons. Amazing soul music! Incredible story! #NowPlaying

Part 2 of the fascinating discussion with @stevenc63.bsky.social of Nothing Is Real. A deep dive into the contrasting feelings of Ringo and Paul and how they approached the performance as well as Joe Brown's moving finale and much more. Don't miss it!
Because we took a long, long, long time recording it, our episode on Concert for George, guest starring @stevenc63.bsky.social, is in two parts, and part 2 is out on Monday! We'll talk about the standout performances, and in particular Paul and Ringo's contributions.

Think of the money he could save by replacing all current life saving medical care with … *checks notes* …a rosary.
Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

Importantly, Johnson was so malignantly narcissistic that put the "success" of his Brexit above everything during the pandemic. The timing of his lockdowns, his vaccine-nationalism, his ending of the transition period during the worst Covid wave – all of it put lives and livelihoods at risk.

Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances.

A new decade-long Brexit study explains it:

a 6–8% hit to GDP – that's £180bn-£240bn a year – means less tax, less investment and less money for everything else.

Brexit made Britain poorer. Much poorer.

ICYMI: astonishingly detailed and fascinating thread about BBC TV's schedule of Fri 22 Nov 1963 which began as just a normal Friday.
It was 62 years ago #OnThisDay in 1963 that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.

Here's a piece I wrote for the History of the BBC website a couple of years ago about how the BBC covered the news.

I'm quite pleased with this one...
