New statement from AG James:

"This is nothing more than a continuation of the president's desperate weaponization of our justice system.

Britain’s electricity has been 100% clean for 87 hours this year – more than ever before.

The challenge now?

Stretching that record from 15 hours straight to 8,760 by 2030.

Dr Simon Evans reports
Great Britain has run on 100% clean power for record 87 hours in 2025 so far
Clean-energy sources have powered Great Britain entirely for a record 87 hours this year — a milestone toward 2030 targets

Shapiro: I filed that amicus brief last night to make it very clear that the Pennsylvania National Guard is under my command.

The way the President has chosen to deploy the Guard in other states—and, in at least one case, deploy the Guard from one state into another—is extremely dangerous.

Lol, I mentioned last week that Mastodon was not the fun place ppl pretended it was, more mind-numbing. Everyone I liked was banned for possible infractions that never made sense. Like a non-inclusive Tellytubby Land. I was flamed & blocked. Pretty sure Mastodon is why we can't have nice things. 🤔

Are people actually moving to mastodon? Because I’ve been there exactly twice and both times, I was like, maybe we should just let social media die

Most Russians don’t know Putin is a dictator—because he controls the news media.

Same thing is happening with legacy and mainstream news media in the U.S.

If you rename the Department of Defense the Department of War, then bomb fishing boats in the Caribbean, and shoot an unarmed priest in the head with a pepper bullet, you should automatically be barred from receiving the Nobel Peace Prize for the rest of your life.

If seeing the video of a pastor being shot in the head with a pepperball and pepper-sprayed in the face up close doesn't change this debate just a little, I don't know what will...Of course it's not on Fox or NewsMax...

My statement on Middle East peace
A white graphic with a blue border includes the following text:

My Statement on Middle East Peace
October 9, 2025

After two years of unimaginable loss and suffering for Israeli families and the people of Gaza, we should all be encouraged and relieved that an end to the conflict is within sight; that those hostages still being held will be reunited with their families; and that vital aid can start reaching those inside Gaza whose lives have been shattered. More than that, though, it now falls on Israelis and Palestinians, with the support of the U.S. and the entire world community, to begin the hard task of rebuilding Gaza – and to commit to a process that, by recognizing the common humanity and basic rights of both peoples, can achieve a lasting peace.

Everyone knows they should do data-first marketing.

But most people look at their numbers & go into emotional shutdown

The fix:
• remove your self-worth from the outcome
• treat it like a fun little experiment
• realize that the right diagnosis increases conversions fast

bad writing to write a character therapizing themselves out loud imo. Please do not use self therapizing as a basis for how people communicate with others in moments of crisis or drama because base emotions bypass all of that and people do not self analyse aloud in those moments either

the solution here is relatively simple at least: remove the part of their expression where a character is able to isolate their emotions and describe how that makes them want to speak or act, and simply have them speak or act that way. Congrats, you've got subtext at that point!

The other crucial thing is that this is work that has to be done. Sometimes with therapists, sometimes just with wisdom. Young people are much less likely to do this! People in fantasy worlds are much likely to do this! A Greek god who embodies a certain kind of power REALLY isn't likely to!

So if a character begins their story with the ability to isolate their emotions and then explain how those emotions make them behave, there's no real drama to how they interact, and no interesting subtext for what they say or do.

there is a lot of good in this manner of speaking, don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to it in general in fiction or reality, but it is an ENDPOINT of a person doing long and worthwhile self-examination, not a starting point

I'd really appreciate if writers these days took a look at their characters doing therapyspeak and whether that's appropriate for their work and their world.

By "therapyspeak" I mean speaking like this: "This is the emotion I'm feeling, and feeling that emotion makes me want to act in a way"
