I spent my childhood inside of American concentration camps. I know one when I see one. And that is what ICE is building.

Tomorrow you may see James David Vance or some other purported Catholic from this administration with ashes on their forehead, it’s important to remember that it’s all just for show.
After a discussion with their attorney, I have confirmed that Juan, his 16-month-old sister, his mom, and his dad have been deported.

For every heartwarming scene of a New Yorker helping their neighbor dig out of the snow, there are seemingly 10 other instances of people letting their dogs defecate on the social compact. Read why @oliviabensimon.bsky.social is now measuring her life in frozen turds:
New York City Is Drowning in Dog Poop
The disgusting calling cards of jerk dog owners are everywhere—on our sidewalks, in our darkest thoughts, and yes, smeared across our shoes.

Men need a reminder that anger is also emotion. We are way more emotional than women. Especially when we feel that our masculinity is threatened. China shop be damned, we gonna bull around! Trample everything!
It wasn’t so long ago that CNN sat down for a serious conversation with these guys. One of them is Pete Hegseth’s pastor.

What drives me crazy every morning, the crowding of he space between subway doors when there's a ton of space just a bit further in! I think it's getting worse.
I recently almost couldn’t exit the subway because two people who were standing outside on the platform were blocking the door. They were 0% concerned about the fact that I couldn’t get out. I often look at people on the platform before I get off so they’ll see me & move. Still doesn’t work.
The near-total absence of spatial awareness in outdoor spaces is one of those things that would make me furious if it didn't amaze me. People walk around as if no one or nothing else exists. Maybe it's the phones. I don't know.

Once again, I want to thank the late Pope Francis for this...
Hundreds of thousand are dead from disease and malnutrition, but at least Vought has his 15-man personal security detail.
The Project 2025 architect who promised to put federal employees “in trauma” is spending $15 million of former USAID funding—money that would have gone toward fighting HIV, polio, malaria, and other diseases—to bankroll his security detail. trib.al/TSV3cmb

So when thousands of women (and children) were being duplicated--including in non-consensual AI porn--it was no big deal. But it took "only a 15-sec clip" of these two famous white men to draw outrage and fear. Gotcha. Cool cool.
It took only a 15-second clip of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt duking it out on a crumbling rooftop — made by A.I. with a two-sentence prompt and the click of a button — to draw swift outrage, and sizable fear, from Hollywood.

"It’s nothing short of terrifying," one scriptwriter said.
Why an A.I. Video of Tom Cruise Battling Brad Pitt Spooked Hollywood
A 15-second clip created by an artificial intelligence tool owned by the Chinese technology company ByteDance appears more cinematic than anything so far.

(1/11) If you live in NY, you’ve probably started seeing a new warning: “THIS PRICE WAS SET BY AN ALGORITHM USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA.” This mandatory disclosure went into effect late last year, and it’s the first attempt by a US state to grapple with a new generation of surveillance pricing.

interesting to think that revolutionary era americans understood themselves as making a break with the “old world” and establishing a new civilization. and crucially, this new civilization rested on republican self-government, not “sovereignty.”
