Georgia Hubley of Yo La Tengo watches Rebecca Gates at Dromfest behind Left Hand Ciders. Because Yo La Tengo aren’t just rock stars, they’re also huge music fans. Pentax 17, Harman Phoenix II, ECN-2 development.

So far today, Chuck Schumer has said his strategy for preventing Trump sending troops into blue cities is to win over Republican senators (!) while Hakeem Jeffries praised Eric Adams's courage and authenticity (!!) while refusing to endorse Mamdani. Again.

These two gotta go.

Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.

Thanks to the Big Takeover for an excellent Whimbrels review
this might be my favorite review yet

"Taking as its mascot a feathery creature with a long, drooping bill, these inventive, art-rock veterans...unleash an oddly compelling, often explosive self-titled debut LP of gripping curiosities and strangely melodic fruit. "

I like resign or be primaried. Can we just go right there instead of a hollow apology demand?
Schumer and Jeffries should condemn this and demand an apology from the President - or they should resign, or be primaried.
Trump threatens to arrest Mamdani and then adds, "a lot of people are saying he's here illegally"

Lovely review of The Whimbrels’ debut by @jenpkelly.bsky.social
“No wave luminaries unite in psychedelic rock in this first album from The Whimbrels, bringing all the squall and drone you’d expect, plus a surprising amount of psychedelic tunefulness,” writes Jennifer Kelly. dustedmagazine.tumblr.com/post/7878811... @howlingwulf.bsky.social
