And here’s a piece I put together for Frame Rated about Thames’ brilliant drama The Naked Civil Servant. Transmitted this day in 1975. 50 years ago I saw it aged 13. It opened a door. #LGBTQ+ www.framerated.co.uk/naked-civil-...

The life and times of Quentin Crisp, an outrageous and flamboyant homosexual, coming-of-age and growing into old age in conservative England.

Goodness

Just saw this on a local fb group (in an area where Labour MPs are virtually nonexistent, but 🤷‍♀️)

Were these landlords asleep for the previous 15 years of austerity and Brexit, which saw countless pubs closing as well as a lack of available staff?

Every writer who generates a slop image for their work is a class traitor.

"I can't afford a visual artist"

So your solution is stabbing artists in the back? Stealing from them?

Furthermore, slop-generated imagery suggests slop-generated writing. That's how you're presenting yourself.

You ever notice how people who do difficult stuff tend not to talk about it much while those that don't talk a lot?

More than two sentences before the one that ends in a question mark?:
Spray of cold water

The only question in your "question" is "do you have any thoughts on that?"/ "Would you comment on that?"/"Would you agree?":

On this day in 1815, computer programmer Ada Lovelace was born in England. She believed computers might compose pieces of music but also that the "Analytical Engine has no pretensions whatever to originate anything. It can do whatever we know how to order it to perform."

When the world feels grim, I remind myself that I’ve lived through the time of Alan Bennett, David Attenborough, Carl Sagan, Oliver Postgate, ABBA, the Goodies, Kate Bush, I Claudius, Doctor Who, David Bowie and sun-dried tomatoes, and I think good god, we’re the luckiest generation in history.

Helen Mirren, from the Xmas 1976 issue of The Listener, bemoaning the absence of late night TV in the UK. It can be hard to recall when TV barely succeeded in crawling past midnight, & even then with mostly dull shows. Even Radio 1 shut down at 00.00. Crikey, nostalgia lies about how boring it was.
