Candy Shop socks for my birthday. I made these in 2022, and they remain one of my favourite pairs.

Christmas socks! I started knitting these on Christmas Day, and they were done before new year (but only got round to taking photos now). Another experiment putting the gusset decreases right under the heel to avoid disrupting the stripes 🧶

Yarn: Regia Design Line (an Arne and Carlos colourway)

Gosh, the Christmas decorations seem to be going up earlier and earlier every year.

Yes, and don't fall into the trap of saying this isn't true. There are some forms of speech and expression that should be suppressed; images and pornographic descriptions of children being sexually abused are examples of forms of speech and expression that should be prohibited.

There are three and a half thousand replies and at least half of them are Australians saying "beef Wellington" 😂🤣

Probably the worst GP I ever had was when I was 18 and I went to see him with crippling depression which I thought was caused by the teenage acne that I had because my obviously abusive then-boyfriend regularly told me how ugly it made me (in comically horrid detail), and the GP treated the acne.

I finally watched the new Knives Out film. It was fun, but the least good of the three so far. Visually stunning though.

I don't think there's much that young people wouldn't understand about the past, but something that even I can't fully imagine now is that you couldn't contact people if they weren't at home or at their office. If you were meeting someone, once you left home, you could not get in touch with them.
Without revealing your actual age, what's something you remember that if you told a younger person they wouldn't understand?

People who believe there should be no jokes or joy during times of grief or anger are fascinating to me. Perhaps especially then, there must and shall be space for respite.

A Royal Commission into why Pringles cans are narrower than they used to be because even though they said the manufacturer that made the old size doesn't exist any more, the supermarket home brands all seem to still have the old size cans so what's going on here exactly is it ANTISEMITISM?

I reckon I should probably go for one of those cognitive tests because I have completely forgotten the times ICE officers shot people to death in the face in the streets during Obama and Biden's presidencies.

My advice to all is that you don't have to care deeply about absolutely everything you see reported just because it's bad and just because you see it. And if your response is that your cannot ignore it because ignoring it would breach some ethical code, you can alter that ethical code.

Being angry and annoyed all of the time is so exhausting. I can see why some people just post thirst traps.

I watched the first episode of this just night. It was good, but I'm not sure how the full series is going to go. It felt very much like an extended sketch in that it didn't really go beyond the premise.

Sorry to the people of East Hull, by the way, but, like, it is possible to move west, you know. Even I came from humble beginnings, but I've bettered myself.

The most annoying feud I ever witnessed was two colleagues in a casino I worked at in a city I won't name. Both of them opened nail salons on the side and were fighting over the names – one was called "Gawjus Claws" and the other "Klawz". Each claimed the other had stolen the name.

"I still use X because my friends are there" makes sense, but also are they your friends if X is the only place they exist? If they will not interact with you except on X? I dunno, if it is exclusively the platform that is holding your friendship together, it doesn't sould like a strog friendship

The trick to writing truly annyoing recipes is to, as I do in my recipe for kedgeree, incorporate the blog post *into the method* rather than having at as a separate entity above the recipe.
