I would prefer you spit on me than tell me I'm "valid". I don't need you to tell me I'm "valid", I was born "valid". Don't patronize me. Let us deal with the real issue, and not just shit out nothing phrases. "You're so valid" turns my issues into a beat of your self-improvement arc. Fuck off.

I conceptually understand how computer architecture works. How signals and registers make operations. How firmware works. How hard drives work and how they're manufactured. How data transmits. How programs are written, how OSes handle them

It still hits me sometimes how insane all this is.

Alcohol companies putting bizarre knicknacks inside the liquor box is the adult version of a kinder egg. Sometimes it makes sense, like it comes with a hipflask or a shot glass, but half the time it's something completely bizarre like "a small pouch" or "poster that says badass" or "plastic skull"

I consider KH1 the weakest KH game, but the segment where Riku takes the keyblade from you, takes Donald and Goofy from you, and literally throws a toy sword at you and then you do Hollow Bastion with no defenses and Beast is pretty fucking good. It's easily the narrative peak of KH1.

I read the Nag Hammadi library recently, and I can already tell the one I *have* to swing back to sometime is the Paraphrase of Shem. There's just so much going on, it's so intense, but it's so different and so weird from the other Nag Hammadi texts. I need to know!

Not the happy ending, nor the "everyone dies, nothing matters" ending, but a secret third ending: you stop the worst things but have to live with a lot of bad things and find worth and meaning through the ambiguity.

The basic structure to icelandic sagas:
1. Write a core story of 4 notable guys that actually has a plot
2. Chop up that narrative with listings of births, marriages, and expeditions
3. Family history lesson and genealogy for everyone involved, at least 4 generations before and after the event

While I understand *why* jocks vs gamer nerds became a widespread thing, you have to admit that it's absurd. "I watch every game, follow game statistics, and root for specific skilled players" people hate people doing the same thing but it's on an Xbox. You're both nerds. Kiss about it.

One of the many reasons I don't prefer Disney levels in Kingdom Hearts is that I spend 2/3rds of the game trying to suss out which voice actors are the originals and which are impersonators, because some of the original VAs are phoning in their performance *so badly* that you can't recognize them

I've now watched, idk, a third of the 4th Doctor era, and there's a conjecture out there that it's specifically Baker acting, Robert Holmes as writer, and Philip Hinchcliffe as producer that produces the best episodes, and that it's at its best when it's a kind of weird horror story. I agree.
Classic Who was always cursed with having good ideas, and occasionally very good acting, trapped inside an awful format that stretches every premise to tedious length. Sometimes this ends up not being a problem, when it's ratcheting tension for horror-adjacent mystery.

One of the fun parts of the internet is when you just discover a totally inexplicable subculture, but they're not hurting anyone.

The ancient Roman /politicians fandom/ is wild. You're drawing softboy art of Caesar, a guy who killed a million people, like he's the blorbo from your shows.

Every time I play a journaling rpg, I get stuck about 20 minutes in when I run out of ideas and the prompts are too vague to really inspire anything. IDK if this is just because I'm playing the freebies or if I dont vibe with journaling rpgs or I dont have the kind of writingbrain that works for em.

I mean if you really think about it, oranges have completely deprecated apples. They're just better. There's no circumstances where apples are useful when oranges are available. I just dont know why someone would choose apples when oranges are right there.
