Seeing anointed leaders of faith communities standing up to injustice and getting pepper-sprayed / cuffed / tackled / arrested---is the ONLY thing I find persuasive about religion.
Thanks to experience I now look at any smart/interesting/attractive person, briefly imagine dating them, and then think "Absolutely not I do not want that maintenance schedule."

I realize it's crazy, but I wonder if, going forward, we could set up consequences to deal with candidates who lie about their plans/intentions/beliefs. Like, after they are elected/appointed, and the lies become apparent. I'm wondering if at that point we could have ANY CONSEQUENCE AT ALL
