Emailing people and telling them how much I appreciate their work is my way of coping with this hellscape of reality. So thanks for helping my kid, middle school librarian! My 2nd grader loves the class elf, teacher! Thanks for hosting D&D for my tweens, city librarian!

Friends! I am broke and yet signed up to adopt a family through a local program. Would LOVE if you could help me get some cheer for these three boys!

If you have five children, even just buying socks and underwear for their Christmas stockings ADDS THE HELL UP

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

Christmassing; Non-Target Gift Cards; Razors That Use a Plain Old Razor Blade; Cat Cabin
I am getting Christmassing done LEFT AND RIGHT. I have the cards out on the dining room table, and I am chipping away at them. (I LIKE doing cards, but only if I do them in batches.) Yesterday I di…

The day after Black Friday has two things I hate: (1) EXTENDED BLACK FRIDAY!! (2) the prices that drop lower than they were yesterday on their Black Friday Sales.

Does anyone who knows things about art supplies have a suggestion for a gouache starter set?

I just placed a SECOND order, because I was buying a socks subscription and needed to use a second address---and not only did the code work a second time, but it WORKED ON THE SOCK SUBSCRIPTION, which I did not expect.
Good Store (Hank & John Green) has a Black Friday code for 25% off: GIVEGOOD25. I bought coffee/mug for Henry, socks for Edward; stickers. I THINK if you use this referral link you get another $10 off, but it might be EITHER the $10 OR the code: oken.do/vr4xphy9

We're Thanksgiving Lunch people---so the potatoes are boiling, the stuffing is baking, the gravy is warming, the pan is ready for the corn, the tray of rolls is ready to go in, and it's almost time! 🍗🥔🥖🧈🥧☕

Cranberry-raspberry jello salad is in progress: it has to cool (stirring occasionally) in the fridge for a couple hours until it's thickened enough to add the raspberries.

Pumpkin cheesecake is done! Spice cake is done but the middle sank alarmingly; I couldn't decide if I should redo it, so I made a double batch of the cream-cheese frosting; if cake's fine, I'll freeze one batch, and if it's not fine, I'll have frosting already made for a second attempt at the cake.

FASHION & ACCESSORY PEOPLE, HELP: I like to sign up for the teens on the gift tree request because they seem to get overlooked. A 14 y/o girl has asked for "big red ash nylon shoulder bag" but I can't find anything like that in stock anywhere. All suggestions appreciated!

Has the communal cooking begun? I have taken the first steps! Golden raisins (for the spice cake) are soaking in boiling water; Oreo crust (for the pumpkin cheesecake) is in the mixer (waiting for Paul to wash the baking dish); butter and cream cheese (for pretty much everything) are softening

Not everybody needs to be a strawberry. There’s room for cranberries in this world too. You can be weird and sour and only tolerated by people around the holidays because they grew up with you. I know you can. You can be fun when mixed with enough vodka. I believe in you. You can live in a bog.
