The Trump administration tells us every day, in every way possible:

The only thing they see as a crime is opposing MAGA.
When this criminal was jailed, the judge told David Gentile and America: ‘This is a warning to would-be fraudsters that seeking to get rich by taking advantage of investors gets you only a one-way ticket to jail.’ I guess not

Jaylen Brown was upset about not getting to the line again tonight (he only shot 4 free throws vs. Minnesota). The difference between him being 8th in the league in scoring and competing for the top spot is ... well... let's just say this won't make him any happier.

This is the problem with this year's Celtics. When Jaylen is cooking, they can look great. If he cools off, there's no one consistently picking them up. White is supposed to be that guy but he hasn't been able to find that groove.

What a breathtakingly clear two-play sequence of hope badly the NFL is in the bag for the Chiefs. First overturned a perfectly legit touchdown, and then not getting a very obvious PI called on them. Kind of pathetic.

Jimmy Butler completely vanished in the final six minutes of that game. I'm guessing that's not what the Warriors had in mind when they agreed to pay him $54M per season.

I made one prediction for Season 5 - that Holly would play a more pivotal role. Two episodes in, I'm feeling like a genius. Mainly because I am, obvi.

Just. Play. Defense. Mazzulla getting too cute, and too stubborn. Cunningham knew exactly what they were going to do. You never want to do exactly what the other team thinks you're going to do. This game was over. Detroit is shooting 31% from three. This is completely on Mazzulla.

There are very few people in the NBA who, pound for pound, are stronger than Jalen Duren. Jaylen Brown is one of them.

Should have been a flagrant on Duren. He clearly hopped right into Minott's landing area.

Forty years ago MLB teams opened their books to an independent economist and were proven to be lying liars who lied.

Until they open their books that way again, let that be your default assumption about any claims they — and their media water carriers — make about their finances.

Going to need some pretty miraculous play to beat Detroit without Queta. Oof.
Per the Celtics, Neemias Queta is OUT for tomorrow’s game against the Pistons.

Neemias Queta - Left Ankle Sprain - OUT

Jayson Tatum - Right Achilles Repair - OUT

Don't listen to Keith. I've seen him fly *multiple* times!
there is zero chance the Yankees failed to turn a profit in any year, but especially in 2025 when they were coming off a World Series appearance. If an MLB owner says he lost money, that's like me saying I can fly. You should insist on proof.

(I can't fly, just so no one asks me to demonstrate.)

I’m trying to understand what the hardest thing in sports actually is.

So I went to explore NASCAR, where the legendary @jimmiejohnson.bsky.social showed me how this world really works.

And then I drove a race car myself.

Doing the "Stranger Things" rewatch, and my daughter made a really good point. Hawkins High shouldn't be the Tigers. They should be the Hawkins High Hawks. I mean, it was right there for them.

I don't understand how anyone can watch how blatantly Grok is manipulated to answer the way ownership desires it to and then act like the other LLM chatbots couldn't possibly be similarly but less obviously compromised to produce responses in whatever way corporate interests and priorities dictate.

Too many unforced errors, and far too many of them can be chalked up to Joe Mazzulla's stubbornness. At some point, you have to guard the *only* player on the other team producing offense a little differently.

Terrance Mann has now flopped three times. He's drawn a charge on each one. It would be great if the refs noticed (not holding my breath), but JB sure as hell should have.

When Mazzulla did his wholesale subbing at 6:43, C's were up 43-41. C's didn't score fit the next 1:32, and completely lost their rhythm. Nets outscored them 21-10 after the wholesale change. I'm begging Mazzulla to please stop doing stupid shit like that.

He's doing exactly what he was hired to do.

I haven't talked about it much on here, but the Patel confirmation was the moment when my campaign began.

His appointment was a five-alarm fire, but Dems reacted like he was just another conservative they kinda disagreed with.
New from me:
Kash Patel is engaged in purges, removal of real accountability, and impunity for loyalists at the FBI.
Researchers told me that these are the exact patterns that create abusive national security organizations under authoritarianism. 🧵
