Forty years ago MLB teams opened their books to an independent economist and were proven to be lying liars who lied.

Until they open their books that way again, let that be your default assumption about any claims they — and their media water carriers — make about their finances.
i’m just happy to see one team not whining about the Dodgers. Go Jays.

Players weren’t inherently more (or less!) “loyal” prior to 1975. They just were legally prohibited from becoming free agents unless their team wanted them to become free agents. Thats not the same thing as Tony Gwynn or Cal Ripken or whoever.

You should eat what you want. You should let other people eat what they want. It doesn't make you cool or smart or edgy or better to make a big deal about how you don't like some popular food. Just don't eat it.

Maybe basketball tournaments shouldn’t have 18 teams.

there is zero chance the Yankees failed to turn a profit in any year, but especially in 2025 when they were coming off a World Series appearance. If an MLB owner says he lost money, that's like me saying I can fly. You should insist on proof.

(I can't fly, just so no one asks me to demonstrate.)

The biggest disruptor to college basketball's MTE environment began a little more than two years ago, when a low-level agent DM'd a Patriot League player. Now the Players Era has gone from 8 to 18 teams. Next year? A whopping 32.

Here's how a polarizing event has changed the sport—and what's next.

There's an actual truth out there and it's not particularly hard to find--vaccines are safe and effective. And it matters that the truth be represented as the truth and not just someone's opinion.

Journalists are supposed to care about facts. It's a fact that RFK Jr. believes vaccines cause autism, but it's also a fact that vaccines do not, in fact, cause autism, documented in plenty of studies. When you cast it as "scientists' opinions" vs. "RFK's opinions" you devalue factual evidence.

Tough to make the decision in real time, but once Lamb caught the ball, Eagles had to let him score.

It is wild how much use I get out of this. Could run it hourly on the weekends.
I may be on Team Take the Points now. Football teams, college and pro, are laughably bad at the goal line. Just hopeless.
