Going to my first NDSU game tomorrow. Anybody have must-do/must-see recs?

Well, your first mistake was listening to local sports radio.

I mean, that's fine, and I respect and admire his respect for Cash, and again I know I'm in the minority here. But that doesn't mean I have to have the same preference.

While I know I am in the minority here, I vehemently disagree with this take. I love the cover but for me it falls well short of the original.

(I know, I know, throw tomatoes at me)

Sinatra is a very good call, yeah.

Willie would be up there, I suspect. Snoop?

:nods:

I'd be shocked if it wasn't a noticeably higher percentage than Bruce or Dylan (who are both great! but that wasn't the question)

I'm truly not sure there's a musician alive who a broader cross-section of Americans would agree is/was "cool" -- if you used that specific word. Seriously, who would top him for universal agreement? It's a damn short list if anyone.

The number of people I know who simultaneously claim not to like country music and also revere Johnny Cash is...

Well, it's more than two!

You'd think he started out on a team with Puyol, not Pujols. #wet

I have absolutely covered a manager (ahem) where sometimes the best thing you could do was ask the exact opposite of what you were thinking because you knew they'd be contrary.
matthewhleach.bsky.social
With that said, I also do a very different kind of interviewing, so who knows?
matthewhleach.bsky.social
I think there's "giving him something to which to object," and this. For me, between the phrasing and the followups, it reads as either utterly uninformed, intentionally naive or intentionally provocative. None of which would cause me, as an interviewee, to give the interviewer much credit. JMO YMMV

Imagine doing so little prep on him before an interview that you ask this.

He Has His Pickle is basically the best remaining justification for the internet's existence.

You thought about other options before you got there, but decided to try your luck, take a chance and see if you could find something better. And it turns out, you were smart to brisket.

LRS:

1. You should read it, Martin is cool.

2. If nobody shows up at gameday with a sign addressing whether Sabrina can, or cannot, (freaking) guard, then Indiana cannot be taken seriously as a football program.

You probably already know this, but Barbe is currently opening for Mould, so it's not hard to imagine them getting some ideas.
