Good page of common adages. My brain is bad with names so I can’t remember these when I need them.

Bummed I got bounced from the MSP feed, but I was really really stretching the definition of "metro" I guess.

Anyway, I finished designing this in #Fusion and I'm ready to print it. A robot from one of my favorite games ever, the C64 version of #ImpossibleMission.

Greg Bovino was seen earlier today at the Minneapolis ICE facility dressed in a very nazi-inspired outfit. They don’t even hide anymore.

Hope you get some free credit reporting or whatever, you stupid fascist thugs.

I stepped away from a computer for 45 MINUTES and came back to this.

I don't want to be a cortisol junkie.

Loving the discourse!

I still occasionally pull out my C64 and 1541, and a lot of those old disks still work fine into their fourth decade. I can still connect with the fascination I felt when I first got to hold these things.

I was just the right age for them to be more than commodities.
i dug in to this a bit

pretty sure there were some trademarks involved

IBM and 3M called them Diskettes

Maxell called them Floppy Disks

these terms go Way Back its right there on the packaging

this Elder Millennial called them Floppies or Disks but no one unironically called them Diskettes

Doing some quick prototyping, so I dug out one of the first PLA spools I bought back in 2014 for my first #3dprinter. Pretty sure this stuff was $40/kg at the time, and is not very good quality by 2025 standards.

I forgot how sweet this stuff smelled!

The amount that I fucking hate these people.

May they never know another minute of peace for the rest of their miserable lives.

My sister-in-law brought over an organizer that had been in her family for a few generations because she thought I'd enjoy going through it.

And this is *extremely* My Shit. It's like she delivered an Ax-Man.

It's weird to be this Known.

Was anticapitalist today and opted to repair a dead Blu-ray player rather than send it to the landfill. #fixIt #repair #electronics

"A woman dressed as a pink Power Ranger hacked a dating site for far-right extremists. She deleted the entire site, but first she made users fall in love with AI bots she ran, thus obtaining information about them. Over 8,000 far-right profiles have now been mapped."

Burned out pretty bad on #3Dprinting about 2 years ago and left some PETG in my Bambu X1C's AMS.

Running a print on the stuff now, and it's... fine? It could probably stand to be dried a little but it's not really too stringy or bubbly. I guess the seal on the AMS is pretty good!

Reading through this and being amazed that life with complex brains not only survive, but can thrive even when compromised by injury or trauma.

Evolution must've paid some mighty prices for that kind of resilience.

Seems like hubris that we can duplicate or surpass it as easily as techbros think.
Can't wait for the loosened up, non-perfect, but quickly shipped AI-enhanced updates to hit my banking and insurance services next year.

Im sure there will be no issues there at all.

I managed to score two of these amazing Noritake Vacuum Fluorescent displays super cheap.

They're amazing! Proportional fonts! Graphics! Windows!?

Kind of tempted to try to make a little side-scolling game with them.

Shifted to VSCode and #PlatformIO to continue embedded development on the ENC XY.

I had a cheapo DS1302 RTC module, so why not add a clock? Fun conversions of RTC bytes into ASCII for the PDSP-1884s.

I still need to come up with a good way to set it. Right now it's based on compile time.

This is not encouraging.

More #Arduino hacking on the ENC-XY.

Making a little pretend sci-fi prop "startup" sequence.

I'm much less fond of the Arduino IDE the more I work with it. :(

Hacking again. This time the Osram PDSP-1884 displays in some obsolete video equipment.

Had to #ReverseEngineer the front panel, which was fun.

Also #Arduino this time. It's all 5V logic, so the #Pico would be more annoying.

Also have control of the buttons and button LEDs.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?
Throwing a wrench in these machines
One day they will stop clogging up our networks
Freeing us from these wretched things.
For the past six weeks, an AI Facebook account has been pulling my history posts on Instagram and slopping out new captions, so I’ve been feeding it poison pills and its followers are having meltdowns in the comments. It’s been pretty spectacular.

Americans will happily devote supreme effort to keep a poor person from getting anything they don't deserve.

And will spend almost no effort doing the same for rich people.

Fuck this America. Launch the rich into the sun.
