I'm not saying the fictional model railroad's lore isn't getting all encompassing but I could see doing a whole photographic chronology.
Wait, how do model train magnetic decouplers work? I know how they work in the sense they're the opposing magnet for magnetic couplers, but so you drive the car over the uncoupler and it breaks the connection, and you can pull the loco away. Then what? How do you couple if you the magnet's there?

Gray clay powder makes a pretty good model railyard concrete analog. It would look even better if I turned on a light or two.

TIme to make the donuts! A real world example of a Timesaver shunting puzzle with some industrial sidings, including the Krispy Kreme doughnut batter factory on the old Effingham RR.
A Z gauge shunting question: the line from C to D should be 6 times longer than the longest rolling stock (including locomotives). Where do we get 6 from? I think I'd like to know how many cars long between the points and off of each side.

If you haven't used the phrase "broke out in a cold sweat" around the same place you used Vernier Calipers you just haven't done enough Z scale model railroad kitbashing yet.

The saga of a 30-years-running model railroad club at a school that's not being given a place to have a layout.
We used to get that Dave's bread because it's so much more filling than regular: you eat a sandwich made with one of their buns or a pair of bread slices and it's as filling as a full meal. Price is up to $7.50 for a pack of buns though, so back to the unhealthy unfilling bread ig. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
