I think in the long run it’s going to be ok because I’m surrounding myself with kinder people these days but I hate not being able to honestly say “I know what I did, I know why it happened, I know how to make sure it won’t happen again”.

“Oh, that sucks. Am I worth keeping around anyway?”

Makes me worried what other areas of my life might be crispy too, honestly. I seem to retain bad stuff more easily than good.

people aren’t coming out of the woodwork to tell me I’m out of control, but if its happened once, stands to reason it could happen a lot.

Had someone the other day fill me in on a fried memory from the past year. It’s nerving me out a little bit. What else happened that I was there for or that I did and it’s just static in my brain? The things I remember are bad enough. But it was still me regardless! Scary.

Realized a couple years ago this would have been a multiple nights of whiskey week but I haven’t really wanted a drop. I’m not sober but I have a much healthier relationship with the sauce now and I’m thankful for the progress made.

Had to learn to drink less because my meds needed my liver. Then I realized that addressing the root issue meant I didn’t need the coping mechanism as much.
