I want to point out that even in the face of this Fortune is doing "AI's only a little airborne it's still good it's still good."

They're beginning from a fallacy, that all technology is equally valuable and will prove its worth over time.

I'm sure this will be heartening news for the NFT market.

*Thousands.*

Not a few dozens, not hundreds. *Thousands* of CEOs said "AI" is not impacting productivity or employment.

who could have seen this coming?

tl;dr: KOSA demands everybody identify themselves mandatorially. Its also anti-LGBT and very fashy.

I am fairly sure the point of this is so AI money idiots can train their models on "human data" verified by mandatory ID.

It is a sadistic trick that the NHS forces you to go private and then punishes you for it. Waiting lists of a *decade*? In no rational society is that acceptable, not least for an underdiagnosed condition.

But this is the model they trialed with gender care and got away with, so here we go.

This is fucking despicable. They’re copypasting their abuse of trans people onto new targets now (and many of the same targets, given how much overlap there is).

I had to fight for a shared care agreement with the ADHD meds that I fucking need to function. Taking them from anyone is beyond cruel.

Second Wind, a company made up of former Escapist creatives, is a profitable small business with a six-figure war chest, half a million YouTube subs, and nearly 90M views in under 2.5 years

the company that let that talent slip away is laying off what workers that remain and pivoting to AI

Always funny, when people herald The Escapist as this massive/amazing publication for many years with good track record.

They tried to reinvigorate that site at least four different times, and it just never worked.

Remembering one of main editors just being a GamerGate apologist.

Conviction-less.

The Escapist pivoting to AI doesn't shock me. It's an inevitable end, given the way it was going.

We put *so* much effort into The Escapist back in the day. I can't even tell you how hard we worked. People were proud to read it, proud to write for it. We did a lot of cool stuff.

Ah, well.

Alpha School, an “AI-powered private school” that heavily relies on AI to teach students and can cost up to $65,000 a year, is AI-generating faulty lesson plans that internal documentation finds. @evystadium.bsky.social has more.

And yet, every day, our most prominent Democratic politicians, scholars, public intellectuals, universities & university leaders, & other civil society organizations continue to use his platform as their primary social media outlet. One cannot help but notice this & draw conclusions.
The world's richest man is broadcasting eliminationist rhetoric about a tiny, vulnerable minority, and virtually no one is going to treat it as a scandal. It's just normal now.

The UK, where they’ll take away the meds you need to be functional, deny the care you need to feel like life is worth living, remove whatever you need to bring your disabilities from insurmountable to manageable…

… and then portray you as lazy if you don’t have a job.

The corporate suits took it over and extinguished any pro-Black messaging. Back in the early 90s, Black folks was rocking Ankh medallions, talking about going back to Africa and freeing Nelson Mandela. Now we got negroes on social media saying they indigenous Indians and America is the motherland💀🤦🏿‍♂️
I can't believe that just in my lifetime we went from the conscious Black Pride hip hop of the 90's to the "Harriet Tubman wasn't real" Tik Toks of today.

Fascinating chart with one outlier: Warren Buffett.

At the low end, giving 0.06% of one's wealth is equivalent to:

Net worth -> Lifetime Giving
50K->$30
100K->$60
500K->$300
$1M->$600

Most folks give far more by % in a *single year*.

I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.
