Any news organization that treated "Will Trump Get Nobel?" as a remotely serious question, and not one more indication of his accelerating hallucinatory patterns, has some 'splaining to do.

Looking at you, all major news orgs.

The Arctic itself is a haunted expanse. Franklin’s doomed expedition sought the Northwest Passage, but ice and scurvy swallowed the crew. Their ghosts linger in stories and naval lore alike. #WyrdWednesday

The elimination of USAID is a moral atrocity and all involved made a choice to enable, and then lie about, ending the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.
MAE SOT, Thailand (AP) - Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."

I will not back down.

Trump is now calling for the arrest of elected representatives checking his power.

What else is left on the path to full-blown authoritarianism?

It's Banned Books Week! It's time for the MA legislature to pass a Freedom to Read bill that protects librarians & educators from harassment, and protects authors, creators, booksellers & publishers from economic harm. I support An Act Regarding Free Expression (H.3594/S.2328). #MassFreedomToRead

"NO evidence that giving shots separately for measles, mumps, and rubella offers any advantage in terms of safety or effectiveness."

There's no evidence that breaking up the MMR shot would make the immunization safer or more effective.

Several journalists resigned this week from three Alaska newspapers after the publications’ corporate owner made significant edits to an article about Charlie Kirk’s death, appearing to yield to pressure from a Republican state lawmaker who had criticized the coverage. (NY Times)

*A Republican lawmaker objected to reference to Charlie Kirk holding “often racist and controversial views” in local Alaska news
*The corporate owner took down the story and edited it
*The journalists resigned

This feels like more and more of our media now.

Now corrected, belatedly, a hasty Skynews edit [sic]🤦🏼‍♂️

I didn't know the ArchBishop designate, Sarah Mullally, before but I certainly didn't know of her husband, a city of London guide who works/worked in software and HR.

In other news, Hugo Von Lawick died in 2002. He was married to Jane Goodall.
Woman named as new Archbishop of Canterbury in historic first.
Sarah Mullally, 63-year-old archbishop-designate is married with has [sic] two children. Originally from Woking in Surrey, she was the UK's chief nursing officer from 1999 to 2004.

The Bytown Museum is the oldest stone building in Ottawa, with a history dating back to 1827 and the construction of the Rideau Canal.
With that history comes stories of ghosts that inhabit the building to make it a very haunted place.
This is the story!

🧵 1/7
A historic stone building with a steeply pitched roof, surrounded by lush green trees, features arched windows and doors with wooden shutters. A sign reading "Museum" is visible on the facade, and a traditional street lamp stands in the foreground along a paved pathway.
