Man, A Fistful of Dollars is such a dope-ass movie. I know its just Yojimbo but if you're gonna be a movie there are way worse movies to be.
There's a trope in Westerns that cowboys don't swear (partly because of extremely censorious laws in the US when they were popular and partly because later Westerns were making fun of this) so cowboys in media often say nonsense words instead. This is a nod to that but like, miHoYo'ed.
It rules. Evidently the new edition (is two parts) differs from the original but every bad review of it is "Why did he make it woke now" and he is rude to fascists so like, works for me. I've only read Vol. 1 but it was so good and so enlightening.
And to be clear I say that as someone who has played and loved D&D since 2e and thinks there are a lot of things it did right (and a lot it ditched over the years to its detriment).
Playing at the World by Jon Peterson fully radicalized me on the tech debt of D&D being a huge hurdle to designing popular TTRPGs. Some of the decisions they made were baffling but at the core I think D&D and its offshoots are still just mediocre tactics boardgames.
Just an absolute masterpiece.
I hate to say it but horsegirl anime is peak.
They're always SO GOOD! Thank you so much for posting them and congrats on FIVE YEARS!
I legit started taking it because you hyped it so much and I regret to inform everyone I feel way better in a bunch of ways when I take it and it's the closest shit to magic. Truly KTP unrivaled in the health influencer sphere.
Sure, but I don't think having options necessarily accounts for the whole picture and I don't think that "our attention spans are utterly ruined by scrolling" does either. I think labor, including domestic labor, accounts for more than folks generally consider.
Oh god I watched it and it is amazing and I care so much about this niche tiktok drama.
I am indescribably excited about this I will absolutely care.
In fairness, when I'm well-rested, I read. When I'm exhausted and killing time, I scroll. This is still a labor issue. I can't speak for everyone, but if we're just going on vibes anyway...
All of your videos are absolute bangers but the deep dive on how old timey lights looked was so rad and the map was great and your analysis and appreciation of the work of so many creative folks is incredibly wholesome in unwholesome times. Glad this one did numbers for you.
The key is to shake your head disapprovingly before every bite. That way people know where you stand.
That requires I be able to use my awful grinding potato brain to make things with computers. When I looked at the protocol stuff it just made my eyes unfocus. I'm just here for the crashouts, man
I was just saying this to @tonyljoy.hey.checkoutmy.link like, I hope BlueSky doesn't totally crash out but at the same time...
Finished reading Ellis Peters' The Sanctuary Sparrow and have started Cristopher Buehlman's The Blacktongue Thief at @tonyljoy.hey.checkoutmy.link's suggestion. Excited given how much I liked Between Two Fires! #booksky
I've finally taken the time to read the first four of Martha Wells' excellent Murderbot books and am starting book 7 of Ellis Peters' Cadfael books, The Sanctuary Sparrow. I remember really liking this story in the BBC show so I'm pretty excited. #booksky
Not small at all. Stems the tide of firings and makes the government try its power in court if they want to rely on the FCC to throttle free speech. I don't care about his show at all but Disney should absolutely defend its employees from government overreach.
Also, generally stories with humanized villains also have some other evil lurking. Vader is sympathetic, Palpatine is not. Ashram is sympathetic, Wagnard is not. Lots of sympathetic villains in Avatar, but not really Ozai. Lots of "postmodern" monster stories because monsters are kind of played out.
Genuinely think this is the best of your videos I've watched and fully agree with your definition of evil as being a willingness to hurt others for your own gain (and I believe goodness to be the opposite - willingness to sacrifice self for others). Her definition is so vague as to be useless.
My immediate response was my eyes rolling fully out of my skull but then I considered that they were obviously taking the piss which may make this transcend the original which was campy but not straight up self-aware like this so I'm open to it being good.
There's something about rare PS2 and Wii games that is so delightful. They FEEL like artifacts in a really visceral way. Rule of Rose is absolutely such a gem.
Given that I changed my pfp from a photo of me to my drawing of The Burgered King, no, I do not think I would want to look like my pfp.

If you could look like your pfp - would you want to?

(Feel free to quote if you wanna answer that way)
