A little while ago, my parents' cat Bridget went missing. As the weeks dragged on, they became extremely worried. My dad devised a way to distract himself: he began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up in some of art and music's most iconic scenes.

First time in-office in nearly three years. I'm only here for a month, not worth decorating. Looking forward to lunch with the crew today. Also looking forward to going back to working in sweatpants in a month.
Standard-issue but cozy office with soundproof panels on wall. Backpack and small bag casually draped on empty bookcase. Desk has three monitors with an Avid editing workstation display visible.

The influx of new folks here is pretty awesome, but it does sometimes entail a guessing game/follow the clues. If your username isn’t a name I recognize, do I know you? Should I follow back? (So far, largely yes.)

I said the other day I had some things to say about how you talk to yourself. I know a lot of us have hurt from way back, and we have other people's bad words living in our heads.

Some people think self esteem is a thing given to some but not them. That if they deserved it they'd have it. 1/

1. Here is the call script to ask our Dem Senators to appoint judges.

2. And a second script *specifically* for New Yorkers to use for Schumer.
YOU: Hi, my name is [NAME]. I’m calling from [Zip Code]. YOU: I’m calling [DEM SENATOR] to ask that they take urgent action in the wake of Tuesday’s election results. YOU: Now that we know that Donald Trump is coming back into the White House, we have to do everything in our power to safeguard our institutions from being harmed. YOU: [DEM SENATOR] must push Leader Schumer to act quickly on these judicial and federal regulator appointments. We cannot leave judicial openings for him to fill, like we did at the end of the Obama Administration. We’ve already clearly seen the damage of all of the judicial appointments that Trump filled, from the ongoing fight for student loan relief, to the abortion fight. YOU: Democratic governors have already begun acting to shore up protections, and I ask - no, demand - that our U.S. Democratic Senators do the same. We must work quickly. There is no time to waste. YOU: [OPTIONAL COMMENT - e.g. request a response] YOU: Hi, my name is [NAME]. I’m calling from [Zip Code]. YOU: I’m calling on Leader Schumer to clarify just how he’ll lead the Senate after Tuesday’s election results. We now know that the Dems will lose the Senate come January, and Trump is coming back to the White House. The Leader MUST clarify his plan for the remaining two months, and he must do it quickly. YOU: I am specifically calling on Leader Schumer to begin taken urgent action on judicial and federal regulator nominations. We cannot leave vacancies for the Trump Administration to fill. We already saw what happened after he was able to fill 100+ nominations in his first term of office, and the ripple effects it’s had on progressive actions across the country. YOU: Leader Schumer cannot pretend this is a normal transition. There’s a reason that Democratic governors are calling special sessions and holding press conferences to discuss how to protect against Trump, and the Leader must do the same.
