The city’s purchasing procedures are meant to prevent waste, fraud and abuse.

This isn’t the first time that councilmembers have suggested ignoring those procedures to award contracts to their friends.

Kettle said he supports The More We Love based on feedback from North Precinct police officers, and told Kim "don't be surprised" if the council ignores the scores in the RFP and just hands more money to The More We Love again (I am paraphrasing, but that was the gist.)
