There's this concept about how if you can make a change for a single generation, no one is left to remember that things were different before, so you can cement a thing as normal if you can just force it for that long.

I rage against Bluetooth and wireless earbuds not because it's the biggest issue, but because it was an entirely manufactured issue that literally only makes things worse so that more earbuds get sold more often with a higher profit ratio.. whatever the fucking term is I can't remember right now.

There are much more subtle ways in which large companies' influence on technology wastes more time and harms more people, but nothing is so in-your-face as wireless headphones. Nothing else confronts you with a worse experience every single day. Everything else occurs more hidden or less frequently.

It's just so frustrating in general how many things are forced upon you, where people in general are too fucking stupid to understand what forced actually means, leading to the dumbest of all responses: Just don't use it. Just use something else. You don't have to.

$30 per person for a fast reliable guarantee of being able to send something anywhere in the country for a cheap price is a great deal.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

It seems like AGI benchmarks are just an explosive multi-modal training rather than actually approaching intelligence.
The increasingly difficult logical puzzles are supposed to be a model of intelligence, so that a higher score represents more intelligence, but I don't think that's happening.

I've been dealing with this very weird bug where Google Play Books keeps downloading the book I marked as finished and instructed it to remove from the device. It just keeps acting like I've requested it be downloaded.

Apple keeps pissing me off because they do really bad things behind the scenes but EVERYTHING ELSE IS WORSE.
I don't want to support and empower Apple in any way whatsoever but every other computing device in my life has hurt me far worse than anything from Apple.
I hate that this is the best.

If you find yourself saying "some [people involved with subject] are really good" in reaction to something, you are defending a crap industry using the few good eggs.

I'm also thinking about how tax write-offs are used to justify purchases of work vehicles that are entirely unsuited for their usage, because to qualify as a work vehicle, it must be a pickup and overweight.
