to my former google friends: omg, they finally made the gShoe from the classic mandatory training "Don't Make The gShoe"
“Inside the heel of the shoe, a small insert can be lifted to reveal the compartment. Then, parents can track the location of their child — or, at least their child’s shoes.”

I love that we’re charging basically the price of a human to a passion project nonprofit turned private company. This is the worse timeline.

We're looking for likeminded professionals that want to build radically respectful technology that goes beyond preserving privacy but to building technology that is intentionally human.
It comes from the idea that technology only works best when we build for community and humanity. Today we're seeing all the implications that lack of foresight and planning are causing.
It is with a lot of simultaneous excitement and trepidation that I'm publicly launching my consultancy. This has been something I've wanted to work towards for some time and I'm really excited to have some amazing mentors and partners over the past year work towards this. intentionallyhuman.xyz

I was 100% certain this is a shit-post. That someone altered their local html on a page for a real bill to make it say this obvious nonsense.

It's real: www.congress.gov/bill/119th-c...

When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patrons’ borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests.

We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason.

I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

A fake social media simulation where everyone agrees with and likes you is one of the saddest things I’ve heard of in a while.
It’s very Twilight Zone “Hell is a casino where you always win.”

Changing Jamelle Bouie’s column headline from a clear-eyed explanation of what animates Vance’s racism to a mealy-mouthed suggestion that Vance be less racist is, even by NYT opinion desk standards, abject cowardice
