NY doesn’t have caucuses we have closed primaries. But same deal. That’s why @nywfp.bsky.social wants us to stay registered as Democrats: so we can win the primaries like Zohran & AOC did.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.
Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.
One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

Unfortunately you have to primary everyone, not just because they don't have what it takes to fight, but because they don't have what it takes to rebuild. Last thing you want is them to win by default and then tread water until the next Trump comes to power
what the moment calls for is fighters instead of gormless boobs who should have retired 30 years ago. policy differences can be hashed out later, everyone can agree that Musk and Trump must be stopped and democracy restored
“Unlike the Tea Party of 2010, this is not an issue that breaks down cleanly along ideological lines. An insurgency isn’t necessarily going to pull Dems to the left, especially because Dem voters can’t really agree on which ideological direction to take their party.” split-ticket.org/2025/02/21/t...

After yesterday’s surrender, we’re launching the largest Democratic primary program that we’ve ever run.
We will not back any Senate primary candidate unless they call for Schumer to step down as Minority Leader.
If you’re as pissed as we are, join this campaign to rebuild the Democratic Party. 👇

Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.

Tips to keep democracy alive in 2025:
1. Be Brave. Avoid helpless/hopeless talk. Authoritarians want you to feel powerless because it makes their work easier. Courage, faith, and optimism are essential. Fascism feeds on cynicism and pessimism. Starve it.

I would also encourage my fellow white authors to ask the organizers that any panels you’re on include people of color as well — and maybe say you won’t participate if the panel is all white. We need to speak up on behalf of our colleagues or nothing will change.
As we look toward next year & make preparations for horror events, organizers, I IMPLORE you to diversify your Women in Horror panels!
Perspectives are SO important in the genre, so let me help you. Starting off:
160 BLACK WOMEN IN HORROR.

This is also true, we keep coming to these moments because white people cannot get their shit together, too many of you vote like assholes, the rest of you will not enact any consequences on the assholes. "But it's my dad" yeah and your dad is a fascist piece of garbage. Act like it.

If Schumer votes AGAINST this but enough Ds vote FOR it that it passes, he needs to RESIGN immediately.
He will have shown himself to be absolutely ineffective as a minority leader. He has to go.

okay, so, with Dems successfully keeping anyone up in 2026 for voting for this turd let's take a look at who's up in 2026 anyway:
1. Cory Booker - apparently involved behind the scenes, constantly looking for bipartisanship. I don't dislike him personally but he doesn't have what we need. Primary.

the funny (not funny) thing is this is a fundamental bit of knowledge that black and brown folks in the US carry with them—often because we’re the ones against whom this is often ‘weaponized’
One thing the NYC mayoral race underscored for me is how easily the phrase "I don't feel safe" can be weaponized. It's an argument I would hesitate ever to use again, even for a good cause. I hope we can all agree that we have the right to BE safe. Maybe we should leave it at that.
