I appreciate the nyt cooking app developers being so considerate of my phone's RAM but it is pretty annoying to use for certain edge cases such as cooking

Over the weekend I took an NJ transit train with no way to tell which stop the train is at. The conductor was telling people when it was their time to get off based on their tickets.

@bsky.app the poor performance of this app when cell service is intermittent makes it very difficult to use on the subway. If I open it new with there's no service it logs me out, which is an issue I've never had on any other app and hasn't been fixed for months.

I don't know why the one interviewee in this article lumped the JP Morgan building in with the skinny talls, it looks great because it has a little more thickness. If anything it's a great demonstration of why we needed to get rid of the FAR cap

Early in this book Lumet jokes that he has to write the pick up times on the call sheet twice, due to the stupidity of the teamsters. Then later he jokes again that he doesn't have to repeat things to stuntmen since they aren't teamsters. Is he trying to tell me something about my own intelligence?
Making Movies by Sidney Lumet, a classic memoir that focuses on the details of the craft of movie making from one of the great film directors.

Why do translators always use the phrase "devil take you", which I've never heard anyone write or say in English? It's in a lot of Russian literature but I also just came across it in the Emigrants (1971), which is Swedish.
