What do you do when the man who said you should have "the living shit beaten out of you" keeps sitting in the front row of candidate events?

You make him meet your eye.

You make him listen to the gasps of outrage when you say his words outloud.

You make him listen to the applause you get.

#nzpol “[CTU Secretary Mellissa] Ansell-Bridges said this was "more than a protest — it is a celebration of the women who nurture, lead, and resist".
"It honours the suffrage legacy and amplifies our collective power to shape the future."

Yay! Trying out the mug I hand painted at #CraftCampNZ. Love it!
A glazed mug with an abstract design painted in blocks of different shades of blue that I hand painted! It is filled with a mocha.

Folks, you can't report the United States to its manager. There's no superhero coming to save us.

We don't need one giant act of heroism. We need millions of small acts of solidarity. Help one person in your community for nothing in return. Then, do it again. And again.

That's the revolution.

They stack the select committee process and already have done-deals in the house via the coalition agreements. But voting in your local referendum is something they can't fix.

You can vote NOW till midday October 11th. If your voting pack doesn't come in the mail, call into your local council.

A poster for an exhibition, it has a piece of knitting that says "DEMOCRACY KNITS by Louise Hutt" surrounded by knitted hats with the words vote on them, balls of yarn, and the text "an exhibition, Friday 5th Sept - 6pm, Nancy Caiger Gallery. One night only".

Thanks everyone who messaged yesterday to confirm they’d submitted 🙌
The silence on this abysmal Bill has been appalling, and it has very much been an advocate-led push to get opposing submissions in before tomorrow’s 1pm deadline.
There’s a lot to fight, deliberately.
Thanks to all amplifying this🙏

It’s deeply frustrating that I’m struggling to find any mainstream media articles making these very clear, very concerning points about The Healthy Futures (Pae Ora) Amendment Bill, alongside the opening of the door to privatisation.
The silence is concerning - and the deadline closes on Monday.
The proposed Bill strips key functions of the locally appointed IMPBs, removes explicit Crown responsibilities concerning Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and removes the health equity principles, which significantly weaken Crown responsibilities to marginalised populations, including Māori, disabled communities, refugees, migrants, LGBTQIA+ communities, and others. The principles guide the healthcare system to specifically work towards better outcomes for communities that historically suffer worse health outcomes, including Māori, who die an average of seven years earlier than non-Māori in New Zealand.

New bill to submit now that it has passed its first reading. This is the one that wants to remove the four pillars of wellbeing and take away local council ability to look after their communities. #nzpol www.parliament.nz/en/pb/sc/mak...

#InternetNZ has just sent out direction on how voting will work, reconfirming that in order to vote on motions you must be present IN THE MEETING at the AGM.

So if you're an InternetNZ member who is eligible to vote PLEASE REGISTER AND ATTEND THE AGM!!
How voting on motions will work
This year, the AGM has 24 motions (including 15 Member Motions) submitted for voting. All Members’ Motions will be presented in the sequence shown on our website, where you can review the precise wording of each Member’s Motion and access any supporting information.

Voting on motions will take place in real time using the Zoom-integrated Mi-Voice voting app.

On 31 July, Eligible Members who have registered for the AGM, will receive a Unique Voter Code (UVC) directly from Mi-Voice, which will allow each member to access the app during the AGM.

Results will be shared live during the AGM.

Ordinary Motions require a simple majority (over 50%) of votes cast for each motion.

Constitutional Motions require a two-thirds majority of votes cast for each motion.

If you have been a member for less than 3 months, you are not eligible to vote on motions at the AGM and won’t receive a Unique Voter Code (UVC). Eligible members who don’t register before the cutoff date will also not receive a UVC.
