I'm a creature of habit.
Hubs❤️ asked why I still getting a particular type of bread.
I have to go out of my way to buy this bread.
It's because it is the only bread, one of the urchins could eat without issues.
Urchin hasn't lived at home for 4 years. 🤦‍♀️ 😀
I don't need to do this anymore.
That is so awesome!
Mine have been in the cars since... August I think.
Tried to sleep between midnight and 5am, sometimes had a "nap" in the afternoon when I got tired, or when there was fog/ grey weather.
Here's the science. Old NASA images showing the exceptionally strong winds that blow downslope from the Trans-Antarctic Mountains across Terranova Bay. These fierce katabatic winds drive the sea ice eastward. The lines across the water were the “ice dunes”.

Hubs❤️ made a delicious brownie for "bring a plate".
I managed to have some of the offcuts with a glass of milk, for my afternoon tea.
Here are some more of the "ice dunes".

These don't have icebergs for scale, but it felt surreal watching the waves, as they looked like sand dunes.

The katabatic winds moving the pancake ice freezing the sea.

Taken between 10pm - 1130pm 20/2/2024.

When I was in Antarctica 2024, I captured this iceberg cruising along, in the pancake ice forming on the sea.
The wind howling along at 170kph+ the ship on a huge lean, the all night sun made it feel it was sand dunes, not partially frozen sea.

Sometimes a grey Spring day needs a little caramel popcorn.
Last week I watched "big tūī" chase off 8! rosellas out of her kowhai tree. It was so noisy, and I didn't think she would be able to do it.

Does anyone in Pōneke know where I could take a dead Kererū (flew into our window 🥺😔) for someone to make use of its feathers?
Pirate comes into the kitchen, makes some raw biscuit / cookie dough.
Takes the bowl away, to eat it all with a spoon.
Doesn't share.

I have family oral stories of trade of the maori with australia. They would use the waipa river to move the items to a larger waka. The Waipa was a major crop growing area. Te Rangi pa (Paterangi) features in the stories. That's why the British wanted the land and invaded the area.
Lots of questions. How can they steal the rocks from another penguins nest if it is ice and not rocks? Is their "nest" ice, or does the egg fit in hollow created by the penguin warmth? Is this an adaptation for nesting? Is a food source closer than where the rock colonies are?
Fascinating.
Was thinking this too, wouldn't it be great that Mr "I'm entitled to the entitlements" doesn't get the life long entitlements of a PM.
Looks fabulous, and great lines. Love the fabric.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.
It’s a wet day so I have been upstairs playing with fabric. Came down to cook a cake.
There are Feijoa leaves and sunflower seeds all over the bench. 😆 culprits are ignoring me. 🪶 #cockateil
Is ready made caramel sauce a USA thing? Please can you suggest a recipe that I could build to substitute. Thanks.
"...the warmth of relationships is genuinely present"

This is a similar feel I get with the early Ao/NZ cluster invite era, as well as adding in the newer ones from #secretsanta.
Very interesting write up by @moja.blue about the early adopter Japanese cluster on here, in contrast to Twitter style battle mode or IG fake nice.

Look at the bug belt! 😍

Swoon.

Universal. Seen them in Europe, Asia, and don't joke about anything USA.
Hmmmm… sounds like one of the neighbours urchin is learning a big brass instrument.
Looking forward to hearing the improvements that come with lots of practice. Looks like his Mama sent him outside to practice 😄
