Context: this speech is from SIR THOMAS MORE, a history written, as near as scholars can tell, in the early 1600s by 6 or 7 people including Dekker, Heywood, Chettle, Shakespeare, and Munday.

It was never performed, because Jacobean England was a police state and it was banned by the censor.
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Go on; have a read, it’s a lovely Christmas Eve tale.
The most stressed out I've ever been about Christmas was when I was 16 and I got my first ever job, working at M&S in Dundrum. As soon as I started I kept hearing these myths about the Christmas Eve Waste Sale, where all the food that wasn't sold on the 24th was marked down 90%.

Under Pressure - As much as I loved Freddie, for me nothing beats this version from his tribute concert. Annie Lennox is another of heroes and this was incredible, I was a teary mess at the end 🥲

If you live in Bristol, love horror and want to support local businesses, please consider doing some of your Christmas shopping at The Haunted Bookshop in Stokes Crofts.

You may have seen Monika at some of our events and her shop is a wonderful sanctuary for those looking to find their people.

1883 was the best of the franchise by far and I thoroughly recommend it. 1923 despite the big name cast was the worst and not worth the effort.
