Let's be clear though. It took 3 minutes to declare a Muslim, Socialist, young, brown, immigrant's electoral victory over a former governor of New York State who is Democratic party establishment through-and-through.

Maybe we should learn something from this. Just a thought.
I work with an exceptional doctoral candidate who is studying the blood plasma industry. Amazing work on a wild biotechnology. Can‘t wait to share her findings
Extremely 2025 coded - Firefighters are donating their plasma to reduce the forever chemicals in their blood. "If a firefighter donates plasma six times a year, the PFAS in their blood could be reduced by up to 60%." (The plasma is "cleaned" before being used.) www.yourvalley.net/glendale-ind...

Me: “The fixation on causal estimates is not the appropriate direction social science…What descriptive analysis provides us with are facts. Facts are nouns. Causal analysis gives us contextual estimates. They are adjectives. In the grammar of social science, we should prefer nouns to adjectives.”

Since this person screenshotted me and I can’t detach, I will point out that they are wrong. The market for fake imagery exists. People do not care if the image is accurate, only that it fits their racism.
two of the three examples are labeled, and this is what I see in the slop feeds too. Obviously there's no demand to see fake videos of black people trying to spend EBT, the algorithms promote these videos because of people who, at least for the first few seconds, think they're real

The destruction is devastating; naming storms after oil execs and other billionaires is such a good idea
As Hurricane Melissa batters Jamaica, climate justice activist @mikaelaloach.bsky.social says "this has been caused by the climate crisis, by fossil fuel companies." She also suggests naming storms after oil company executives to highlight their role.

Many progressive and leftist pundits argue that caring about racism is an elite agenda. While we should be critical of how race is weaponized by institutions for reactionary purposes, posing critiques of racism as elite suggests one must accept racism as class politics and discredits racial justice.
The piece hasn't found a publisher yet on the grounds that its outdated or irrelevant (lots of ink already spilled on Fetterman, I've been working on this for years so I'm also tired of writing about him); but, I submit that it is still relevant
Meaning that headlines should stop lamenting Fetterman's betrayal of progressive voters, because this framing of betrayal is only possible after years of excusing his racism and Islamophobia
And, that politics of white supremacy and Islamophobia in Western Pennsylvania, where Fetterman began his political career (think 9/11, Flight 93, etc.), provides some clues to his current grotesque politics (like accepting the gift of that silver pager)
But I'm also writing this piece about John Fetterman that, in its current iteration, is about how liberals—and yes, even some leftists/progressives—couldn't read his particular class-based presentation of white masculinity for the white supremacy that it was
I saw someone post what is a graham planter and that's where I'd prefer my level of involvement with the current Internet discourse
