This man gets it. Won't say I miss having to install Adobe Air to get tweets on my pc, but the vibe was so much better then. Some was definitely the newness, but now it feels like just another channel to push content, propaganda, and advertise. Gone are the days of the Mars rover texting me updates.
I know we'll never get back there, but I miss 2008 era social media. Creative, inclusive, sharing...it wasn't perfect, but it was such a better time for it. Late stage social media is rage, division, exploitation, and those who capitalize on those things. It's a bummer.

Using EverQuest as your primary prototype for a modern MMO is like looking to alchemy or astrology for answers. There is a reason we use chemistry or a astronomy now. It had some good ideas, but in hindsight many of them were not. Stop treating it the way people do to the constitution or the bible.

Kinda want to write a blog post or create a video discussing how many people have an incorrect take on classic MMOs and why they were great. Sorry, it wasn't the limited systems forcing social interaction and slow, punishing combat. Just recreating those in a new game won't bring back that high #mmo

Wonder how many of the people freaking out (and joking) about taking protein powder realize this isn't just a protein powder issue... it is a SUPPLEMENT issue. All those otc vitamins, fish oil, probiotics, etc they (may) take are subject to the same lack of scrutiny and likely less beneficial.

Any guesses on the maga response? Personally I am guessing they will contradict themselves claiming these are all AI fakes (bonus: Trump crowds were bigger). Otherwise, maybe in addition to, this will be labeled as a call to action against Soros funded "antifa" before it is too late.
