Michael is correct that if we could unilaterally prevent people from going over the speed limit, we should. It is WILD that the number of traffic deaths in the US is 40000.

A midsized suburb worth of people every 12 months.
A DCA midair collision happening every DAY.
Shoot, turns out the only way to stick it to Trump is for 40,000 people to keep dying every year

Adding "Has an entire Supreme Court Improvement Plan" to the list of reasons I (might) consider choosing Moulton over Markey for
December 5, 2025 at 1:19 AM
Whitehouse being on this list is a real disappointment. (So is Durbin, but he sucks and we already knew that)
11 Senate Democrats just voted to advance the nomination of a Federal Society judge who used to defend banks and payday lenders:

Durbin
Gallego
Hassan
Hirono
Kaine
Kelly
King
Klobuchar
Reed
Rosen
Whitehouse

Adding this to my Anti-Moulton agenda. (Exhibit 3) Pressley voted yea methinks
Trump is filling his government with Nazis, consolidating authoritarian power, and eroding democracy at every chance.

And yet these 86 House Democrats voted for a right-wing messaging amendment to say that the real authoritarians are the socialists.

Pathetic.

One of my biggest hills is that this is the worst Christmas Song of all time. Paul McCartney released something that sounds like he wrote it in three minutes on a napkin. He gave us so much great music that is foundational to my own understanding of the art, but he also gave us this. A disgrace.

Deeply compelling performance to send the Spirit back to the NWSL Championship. No drama this time. They're looking ready.

Wednesday: Hey the New York Times seems to have had knowledge of Trumps communiques with Epstein going back 2015. Think that's a problem?

Thursday: How DARE you think that the Institution would DO such a thing. It must have been a single rogue reporter.

Been trying to square this. I don’t think *the institution knew* is necessarily true. (The thread thinks it’s likelier false than not). Lot of people on this site think that the opposite. I may have contributed to that by proxy
Okay, I'm about to block this woman, but for people who in *good faith* don't understand this, a work email does not mean your employer is reading your communications, and in newsrooms it *very much* does not mean that for source protection and liability reasons.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

"He is too old" is not a good enough reason to replace Markey with Moulton and it's not close. (OP knows this)
4. John Hickenlooper. Squishy moderate from what is now a very blue state (CO). May have been involved behind the scenes. Primary.

5. Ben Ray Lujan. Usually pretty good, actually, I'd leave him alone.

6. Ed Markey. Generally a good Senator but too old. Please do not replace with Seth Moulton.
November 10, 2025 at 1:03 PM
Feel like anybody deserves a primary for supporting this nonsense. (Still would like it to be anyone but Moulton if it's against Markey)
not enough chatter about how frequently members fly and how attacking airport capacity directly affects them in a way that cutting SNAP does not

Anti-corruption, is, honestly, paying people what they are worth.
The Mayor of New York only makes $260k. I bet there are police that make more than that in NY with overtime.

We need to pay elected leaders more money and stop pretending it's some sort of calling. They're managing hundreds of billions of dollars in investments and millions of people's lives.
November 8, 2025 at 3:08 AM
It's worth noting that WRT Markey, they person to do this is NOT Seth Moulton
I'm not sure who it's going to be but I'm team Primary Healey. Markey is up for reelection but he's less of a problem. (Though maybe also worth sticking in the fire to move to the left. It's what happened last time)
we need to actually run some primaries

outside of Mamdani in NYC - which folks are spinning as hard as they can as "well Andrew Cuomo sucks" (he does) - the only place we see the depth of Dem discontent at the moment is polling

throw a few of them out and it'll start to get real attention

Mamdani with the most meteoric rise since D'Pez Poopsie

It is 10 years later and I still get upset every time someone treats Pete Carrol's final offensive play call in Super Bowl 49 like the worst decision ever made. It's simply; not that bad!

I feel like "the most partisan Dem voters are also very angry at the Democrats" should be opening some eyes but that seems to be incapable of penetrating into wider discourse

Will Stancil tries much harder than I would ever to convince his replies guys of certain things. It's very endearing and maybe a little concerning.
